St Luke's Charity Card Challenge ....

... here we are again - time for our third challenge for St Luke's Hospice.  This month the St Luke's Charity Card Challenge DT want you to

"Come fly with me!"

You can make whatever type of card you like - shabby chic, vintage, clean and simple - the choice is yours.  However, you must include something that flies - bugs, planes, fairies, angels, balloons - or even a horse - you know, the one with wings!! :)

When Tara sent us the theme for the month - I was delighted - I love butterflies and they fit the bill perfectly.  However, last week's Less is More challenge was to feature a butterfly or butterflies - so I had a quick rethink!!  And here's my card:

My card is reasonably clean and simple in design - I seem to like this style.  For my main image I used the Hot Air Balloon that came free with Craft Stamper (May 2011).  I stamped it in black Versafine and the embossed with clear powder for a nice clear image.  I stamped the image again on a bit of scrap paper (determined to use up all the bits) and cut out the large balloon.  I cut the square with my nesties and while in the die added colour to the background.  I also die cut a backing layer from a street atlas - I thought it was appropriate for a balloon ride!  The main image was attached with sticky pads to give dimension.  An easy and fun card!!

Stamps:  Imagine That - Hot Air Balloon (FOC with Craft Stamper - May)
Spellbinders:  Beaded Squares (S4-315) die #4, Classic Squares Lg (S4-126) die #5
Inks:  Versafine - Onyx Black; Distress - Stormy Sky, Tumbled Glass
Accessories:  Street Atlas; Card and embossing powder from stash

"Cards can be any shape, size or colour. If you are going to kindly donate your card to the charity, if you could include a matching blank envelope that would be great - if you can pop it in a protective card bag then even better but we can sort this once we receive them if you don't have them available. Then just pop it all in another slightly larger envelope (perhaps with a bit of extra card or tissue to protect anything delicate) and send it to:

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PUT A STAMP ON YOUR PARCEL AND DO NOT USE THE FREEPOST ADDRESS (we were given the Freepost address in error) - THANKS"

Don't forget to visit my fellow DT members - they have some lovely cards to inspire and share with you:

Before I go, I'd like to thank everyone who took part in last month's challenge - "pick a pattern".  Tara has a little counter on the challenge blog counting the number of cards that have been received at St Luke's, and while there weren't as many entries last month as we'd hoped - there were lots of cards received at the Hospice.  So many thanks.  But we'd love to see what you do with this month's theme!!

And we have something a little special this month - Ciara (DT member) has kindly donated a prize - a bundle of Blue Ribbons from Ribbon Girl.  This will go to the best online card (so don't just send your cards to the hospice - put them on your blog too).  The blue colour matches the theme - blue - sky!!

Donated by Ciara
That's all for now.  I should have a card or two to share with you later today - see you then!!

Very inventive with the street atlas - I have to say that the CAS style is one that you seem ideally suited to, isn't it odd how different people naturally gravitate to either CAS or not?? CAS doesn't seem to gravitate towards me that's all I can say!!
