.... Morning!! So much for making cards every week! I'm here today with my card for our new challenge at The Male Room - TMR#213. This month we'd like you to make your masculine themed projects based on JOBS OR PROFESSIONS. My card would be suitable for a science teacher, chemistry professor, science student, well anyone who works in the chemistry/biochemistry field.
Stamps: There She Goes - Cutie Pi; MFT - Undeniable Chemistry; Sweet Stamp Shop - Elements; Your Next Stamp - Perfect Chemistry
Inks: Gina K - Powder Blue, Blue Denim, In the Navy, Butterscotch; Versafine Clair - Nocturne; Versamark
Accessories: White & Kraft Card; Clear Embossing Powder; Copic Markers;
I started by creating my own background paper with a chemistry theme. I stamped "chemical" structures in Versamark ink, heat embossed with clear powder and then ink blended several shades of blue ink to reveal the stamped images. I cut the panel to be slightly smaller than a US A2 notecard (which I made of kraft card) and added it to the front of the card. I used my MISTI to stamp the chemistry teacher/prof on white card, coloured him with Copic markers, put him back in the MISTI and restamped the image with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink which gives a bold black image. I used the same process to the stamp the cute chemistry glassware. I fussy cut them out and adhered them to the front of the card. I finished the front with a bold greeting in black ink and added some extra inked accents to the background design. For the inside, I cut a piece of white card onto which I stamped a simple greeting and added some fun accent images.
I'm submitting this card to AAA Colourful - AAAC#30 - I think their colours are just perfect for this card.
While I said this card could be for a guy in the science field, it's actually going to be given to my hubby. Some years ago, I did a chemistry degree with the Open University and Jonathan supported me through all my studies. I collected lots of science themed stamps and it's nice to get them out to play. Jonathan will love this card.
That's it for now. Do join in with our Jobs and Professions challenge at The Male Room. I look forward to visiting your projects. Bye for now.
