A tag for Mum ....

.... I've finally managed to make a tag for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge - WMSC62.  The sketch is super - a bit different - a tag designed by Anya Schrier.

I'm not great at tags and don't do them often, but I decided to give it a go.   And I've kept reasonably close to the sketch too.  I used my Spellbinders nesties to make the tag - the lovely Labels 4 - I used the smallest of the Grand Labels 4 to cut two tags, and the largest of Labels 4 to cut one more.  I decorated the two largest labels - stamping one label with the gingham stamp and heat embossing with clear powder and the other with the flower trellis and heat embossing with white powder.  I used some pale yellow ribbon to make a loop and then stuck the two layers together.  I decided to make the flower trellis the front of the tag with the gingham as the back.

I attached a strip of ribbon (to match the loop) to the smaller label - it's stitched down (not brilliant stitching).  I stamped the large and small rose onto some white card and coloured them both with Promarkers.  I also stamped a couple of leaves onto kraft card and heat embossed with white powder.  I coloured the leaves with just a hint of green.  I stamped the sentiment onto kraft card, embossed with white powder and then cut them to make pennants.  I added a touch of white distress ink to the sentiment and reverse of the tag.

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Roses in Bloom, Gingham & Co, Pic-Nic Patterns
Inks:  Versamark; Stampin' Up! - White pigment
Spellbinders:  Grand Labels 4 (LF-190) #1, Labels 4 (S4-190) #6
Promarkers:  Sunflower, Canary, Soft Lime
Accessories:  Ribbon, clear and white embossing powders, kraft card - all from stash

I decorated the reverse of the tag too with the big rose.  I do like the slightly rustic feel to this tag, and I think Mum will like it too.  As it's decorated on both sides, she'll be able to hang it in the window.  For the colour inspiration I've used CR84FN36 - just love these colours!!

I'm off to see the Physio again this morning - hopefully for the last time.  My knee is feeling very much better.  Will let you know later.  Hopefully, I'll have a card for Less is More too!!

Before I go - I've got lots of new Blog Friends to welcome - say Hi to Anne (Stamp'n'Paper), JudyFord, Kreattiva, Karman, Catymariposina and Maria - so glad you've joined me.  Oh yes, the Blogversary counter now shows 7 days to my 1st Anniversary - so there's still plenty of time to link to the Candy Post.  See you later!

I love this Deborah! The white ink on kraft with the punch of yellow is stunning - as is that beautifully coloured rose.

Love the large size of this tag Deborah and that you decorated both side of it. I thought you had made two tags at first glance. The layers of beautifully stamped and colored images is so pretty. Great job on this sketch.
