Birthday card ...

.... I thought I'd let you know that Jonathan arrived safely in Detroit on Monday night.  The flight landed early, but he had a long wait in the immigration and customs queue, so they cancelled each other out!    He picked up his car after leaving the airport - he says that it's going to take a while to get used to driving on the right hand side of the road.  And the hotel is very nice, which is good as he's going to be there a while.

The card I'm sharing today is a birthday card for my Great nephew, Callum, he'll be 4 years old next week.  I've used the layout from this week's CAS-ual Fridays - CFC26 challenge - just getting it in on time, and the colours are from the current Ribbon Reel - RR14 challenge - turquoise, hot pink and cream, and a ribbon!

Despite Callum's card being really clean and simple in design, it took a while to make!  I layered some turquoise, holographic pink and cream card to make the base layer.  As the card is for a little boy, I decided to use some turquoise raffia for the ribbon.  I stamped the number 4 onto turquoise card and cut it out and placed it on the raffia ribbon.  For decoration I've used a really sweet studded robot and some cogs.  And finally, I added a simple birthday sentiment in turquoise.

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Free Spirit Sentiments; Papermania - Typography No 4
Inks:  Versafine - Onyx Black; Stampin' Up! - Tempting Turquoise
Accessories:  TPC Studio - Blips & Beeps Robots; Raffia ribbon, peel off cog and card from stash

It's really dull and grey here today - I've had the lights on all day!!  But it is still quite mild - and hopefully that'll continue for a while.  That's all for now - I'll be back tomorrow with another card to share.

I totally wasn't expecting to see a robot on your card but I can see how you used the inspiration photo...brilliant card Deborah.
Too bad about check in...Jasper Carrot once said that in American airpots, they have one check in desk for the rest of the world whilst all the others are for American citizens!!!! Lol.
