Moving house ....

..... no, not us!!  My cousin Neil, and his partner Kelly, have moved into their new home today.  I know they are really excited about this house, so I've made a couple of cards for them.  One from me, and one from Mum.

My first card is for this week's challenge over at Less is More - LIM50, Chrissie and Mandi want us to make a card featuring birds!!!  I've been thinking about this all week, and when I finally looked through my stamp catalogue, I realised I had lots of bird stamps.  I used the lovely layout from Clean & Simple Stamping - FTL173.

I started off by stamping a "wall" behind which you can see a bird house - with lots of new arrivals.  I've coloured the bird house with Promarkers.  The sentiment is simple and has been coloured with a green Sakura Stardust pen.  Clean, simple and to the point.

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Off Beat Backgrounds; Spring Stamps - free with Crafts Beautiful
Inks:  Kaleidacolor - Cappuccino Delight; Memento - Tuxedo Black
Accessories:  Card, Promarkers and Sakura all from my stash

The next card has been made using the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge - WMSC80 - designed by Anya Schrier.  It's really versatile!

I knew that I wanted to use the sweet house in Sewing Box - Hugs and that I wanted to paper piece it too.  I decided to use the lovely papers that I got free with Quick Cards Made Easy.  I love the colours and the theme.  I selected two papers to make the background, cut the layers, attached them to the card and then embossed the funky circles from Free Spirit - Boy onto the background - not sure you can really seem the effect in the photo, but in real life the card sparkles!!!   I used the clouds to make the central panel and it looks like a sky behind the house, which has been pieced together with some green paper from my scrap pile and some more sheets from the set.  Finally I added the sentiment "Celebrate" - which I think they will do in style!!

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Sewing Box Hugs, Free Spirit Boy, Say It Loud
Inks:  Versamark; Memento - Tuxedo Black
Accessories:  Papers - Let's Fly Away; Kaleidoscope embossing powder and card from stash

Thank you to everyone who left me so many lovely comments yesterday - I really appreciate them all - I had such fun making that Union Flag card for Jonathan.  The papers are so pretty and I think you may see them again soon.

My friend Heather came over to see me yesterday - we had such fun catching up and she treated Mum and me to lunch in a wonderful local restaurant.  The food there is really delicious.  I do love getting together with my friends.  And now, I'd like to welcome another new follower - I'm delighted to say Hi and Welcome to Linda.  That's all for today - I'm got to go and think about doing some ironing!!  Take care.

I like both of these but I am fascinated by the embossed circles treatment and it showed up very well in the photo. What a neat idea. I will try to remember that one. I hope you are thinking about ironing while you are making more cards! Lol!

Woohoo that birdhouse; so d.rn cute!!!
And your take on the WM sketch is so bright and happy. I had to smile the moment I saw it. We just had a "grey" day with rain and cloudy weather. You definitely brought some sunshine with this beauty!

Two fabulous cards Deborah. Funnily enough I have just stamped a bird house (not the same one) to make a new home card :o)

The first is my favourite - it's your wall & the way you've given the semblance of sky.

Two very different cards here! I love the bright celebratory feel of the second but my favourite is the LiM card with your beautifully coloured bird house. Your cousin and his partner are sure to be delighted with these!

Wow, two cute cards today. I love those sweet little birds and the checkerboard pattern for the base of the birdhouse. Great coloring on those birds too. The second card really does sparkle! I could definitely see it and love those patterned papers. Sewing Box Hugs is my favorite set, so love that little house and the great big Celebrate sentiment.
