Christmas wreath ...

.... Morning! I've been busy this morning making Christmas cards - do stop by tomorrow to see more. And I've a very clean and simple card to share today:

Merry Christmas - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Penny Black - Crystal Wreath; Uniko - Pure Florals Poinsettia
Inks: Kaleidacolor - Fresh Greens; Versafine - Onyx Black
Dies: Die-namics - Basic Stitch Lines
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Stampin' Up Card - Emerald Envy; Gems

I used the theme from Merry Monday - MM#218 where they want to see how you will decorate your door - a wonderful Christmas Wreath in my case. Although, it might not be quite like this beauty. I'm submitting this card to Less is More - LIM#300 where they are celebrating their 300th challenge with the theme of Festivals and Celebrations; Christmas is one of the biggest celebrations of the year. And over at Addicted to Stamps and More! - ATSM#218 they have a holiday challenge.

I did consider embossing the panel with a wood grain finish to suggest the front door, but I decided instead to let the simplicity of the wreath design dominate. I stamped the image in ombre shades of green, added the greeting, edged the panel with a stitch design and finished with masses of red gems. I attached the panel with foam tape for some dimension. Perfectly CAS. On the inside I cut a mat layer of dark green card, on the white panel I stamped the wreath again and added a Christmas greeting.

I took a close up photo to show just how pretty these gems look under the light:

It's another lovely day here in Northville with bright blue skies and sunshine. It's not as hot as it was on Tuesday 1st November when we reached 26C (78F), much more like summer than autumn, but it's still very pleasant. Autumn seems a bit reluctant to arrive - and that suits me fine :) That's all for today. Do drop by tomorrow to see our new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Bye!!

Your wreaths are swoon-worthy and CAS-tastic Deborah! I think you made the right choice by not using the wood grain embossing as these are perfection just as they are. Your cross stitch border is wonderful and the red gems add such a super sparkle. Our Less is More 300th challenge wouldn't be complete without you being there! Thanks so much for joining us xx
