CR84FN50 - Mother's Day ....

.... Part II!  Okay, I know I shared a Mother's Day card last Sunday, but this one was made for my wonderful Mother-in-law, Madeline!  She's a super woman and I love her lots!  The CR84FN50 colours are so bright and vibrant and, for Madeline, I went for a bright, cheerful card.  The inspiration photos are courtesy of Southern Wedding Magazines - just gorgeous!

I've gone a clean and simple design and used the fabulous Medallion stamp from Stampin' Up! - it hasn't seen ink for a while, but I thought it would look great in these colours.  I stamped it directly onto the card in pink, then stamped it again on white card in orange and yellow.  I cut the central sections out using my Spellbinder dies, adding a pink gem to finish it off.  On the opposite corner, I stamped a "bit" of the medallion in yellow and then, using my stamp-a-ma-jig, stamped the sentiment.

Stamps:  Stampin' Up! - Medallion, Sentiments
Inks:  Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango
Spellbinders:  Big Scalloped Circles Lg (S4-249) # 1, Plain Circles Lg (S4-114) #4
Accessories: Card and gem from stash

For more ideas from the Design Team, check out the CR84FN blog.  Today is Stephanie Kraft's last post as a member of the CR84FN Design Team; she has shared so many gorgeous creations and has been an inspiration.  I'd like to wish Stephanie good luck in her future ventures - do drop by her blog - HandKrafted by Stephanie and leave some love.  We are also saying goodbye to our Guest Designer, Shannon White - thanks so much for sharing your lovely cards with us.    This is the bonus third week for these colours, and we'd love to see your creations.

Since arriving in Michigan, we have had the most wonderful weather - I know that it's totally unusual, but it's been a wonderful just the same.  Yesterday we decided to do a bit of exploring, we were going to visit Detroit Zoo, but it was rather dull, so we headed out towards Lansing - capital of Michigan.  There are some marvellous buildings there and we will have to visit again - only this time when the weather is better so that we can take some decent photos.

That's all for now, see you soon.

Superbly effective with the sentiment overstamping & the way the yellow medallion echoes the main in a muted form (if yellow can be muted when it's not pastel!).

Deborah, this is one of my favourite stamps (and I don't own it!) but I always like seeing it used and your card is no exception - so lively and cheerful. Maybe I can do something similar with WMS doilies? Hope Michigan is proving interesting and fun for your family. I know Novi has a big stamp show once a year, so you'll have to look into that.

No kidding it looks great in these colors! Love this. And you're in MI? The Detroit Institute of Arts is pretty cool. And there is a great restaurant (although pricey) at the top of the Ren Cen. They have a killer lobster corndog as a starter. Yummy. And you can't beat the view. There's also a super view at the foot of the bridge to Canada in Port Huron. The water in the river is my fave shade of blue/green. I could go on and on.
