Kathryn's art lesson ....

.... We've had a very busy morning.  Kathryn has spent quite a lot of time this week working on Maths, English and Science, so today I thought it would be fun to do a bit of art.

As we found out about Katie's birthday this morning, I asked Kathryn if she'd like to make Katie a card and use of the challenges for the inspiration.  Her immediate response was YES!!!  Kathryn decided that she'd have a go at the One Layer Wednesday - OLW84 challenge set by Susan.  After hunting through my stash, Kathryn came up with this card:

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Large Doily, Compact Sentiments, Make Your Mark
Inks:  Stampin' Up! - Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red
Accessories:  Card from stash

Kathryn started off by working out her design on a piece of scrap paper and trying out different colours - originally the large doily was going to be orange, but she decided that she liked it better in pink (and I agree with her).

Hopefully, Kathryn will have a few more cards to share with you soon.

Glad you're able to incorporate stamping into the art lesson - brilliant way of learning to plan & make decisions about colour.

Well done Kathryn - Strong central image surrounded by just enough 'random' elements! But you'll have to start calling it MATH (not MATHS!) here! LOL!

Was just at Susan's blog and saw that you've posted Kathryn's card. Congratulations, Kathryn! You are now (or will soon be) what my son likes to call "An Internet Sensation!"

Kathryn, this card is super - I love that you used the sentiment in the centre of the doily ring, and that you used orange AND pink! Youhave random stamping down pat too - I hate it and always make a mess of it. You seem to have it all sorted!
