Star Student ....

... Hi!  I had a brilliant idea for a card today, but I think I might have been trying to hard:

Stamps: My Favourite Things - LLD School Days
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Mint Macaron, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette
Dies: Die-namics - LLD School Days
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Sahara Sand

So, what do you think?  It's sort of how I imaged, but not quite.  Still I am pleased with the colouring on the apples!  I've used a few challenges in the making of this card:
I cut a panel of kraft card slightly smaller than the card and adhered it to the card.  I stamped the apples using my MISTI using several ink impressions and building the shading on each apple.  I cut them out with the matching die.  I created the stems from the pencil image.  And finished the front with some sentiments.  On the inside I cut a mat of kraft and on the white panel added more decoration.

This is for Kathryn, she almost at the end of her first week at High School.  Getting up in the morning is tough, and not just for Kat!!!  Both Jonathan and I are finding it really hard to wake so early.  Kathryn says that her teachers are super and she's finding her way around the school okay.  The only thing that been strange this week is the weather - we've gone from a tropical and steamy  90°F on Tuesday to a more normal 76°F today.

I've just seen a chipmunk running up the tree outside my window - so cute!  That's all for today.

Super sweet to make a card for your daughter - I love your style - always very trendy and never afraid to take chances. I agree - school starts too early here - kids are on the bus stop corner at 5:30 am!!!
