Happy New Year ....

... well it's the start of the Chinese Year of the Rabbit.  I've made my card to celebrate this occasion for two challenges.  The layout is based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch - I've opted for the square version.  The colours come from the Colour Q challenge - cQc70.

Once again, I've done my very best to match the Stampin' Up! colours.  It was hard to find papers that matched, but I think the brown mulberry paper is obvious.  The backing paper comes from a Papermania oriental set - poppy paradise.  The coral glitter paper matches cameo coral, while the pink card is almost exactly blushing bride.  The vanilla is the base card.

All the stamps come from Waltzingmouse (yes, I know - another card) but these do tend to be my "go-to" sets!!  I stamped the border in desert sand to give a subtle pattern on the paper.  Then using rich cocoa I stamped the bare branch and the birdcage.  Using my wonderful Stampin' Up! circle punches in various sizes, I punched lots of circles.  I stamped the sakura flower onto the circles using rich cocoa and angel pink.  I arranged them randomly to follow the curve in the sketch and attached them to the card.  The greeting comes from the additions set.  Finally I added some Chinese coin charms from my stash.

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Asian Gardens, Asian Garden Additions
Inks:  Memento - Rich Cocoa, Angel Pink, Desert Sand
Paper:  Papermania - Oriental Spice
Accessories:  Mulberry paper, glitter paper, card - from stash; Stampin' Up! circle punches (various sizes)

I've had my gym induction course - lovely equipment.  I had a quick go on several of the machines - I have a feeling I'm going to be totally exhausted.  But I have to keep in mind that it's doing me good.  On the plus side, there's a lovely sauna and steam room at the gym - so a nice place to relax in once the hard work's done!!

I'm so glad to be inside our nice warm house - the wind is blowing a gale at the moment.  It sounds awful outside, but I know that we're very fortunate not to have it worse - there's no snow, just wind and rain!!

Anyway, that's all for today - I'm really pleased how many cards I've made today.  I think I'm making up for lost time :)  Do drop by again tomorrow - I'm sure I'll have a bit more to share with you.  Where ever you are - take care!

This is the best use of mulberry paper I've seen since I saw it being a sheep! I love the tone-on-tone stamping too. We're being assaulted by a gale too - and it's finding every gap to get in!

This is so good - I like your use of WMS; brilliant when you have stamps that you know & love using because of their versatility. Brilliant matching of colours too & I just love those circles interpreting the sketch. We have howling wind & driving rain too - not nice at all.
