Delightful ...

... and fun!  That's the new challenge over at Less Is More - a new challenge blog launched last Saturday by Chrissie and Mandi - both very talented ladies.  The idea behind this new challenge is "to promote the making of classic Clean and Simple cards".  I'm not at all sure that I have a particular style of card making.  I love to experiment and try all sorts of different challenges.  Sometimes I find that I'm just in the mood for a CAS look, and at other times I want frills, ribbons, layers!!

Anyhoo! The first challenge the ladies have given us is to make a card that feature the colours pink, black and white - a really classic combination.   If you haven't already visited this site - it's well worth it!

Clean and simple cards are not necessarily easy cards to make.  However, I knew the look I wanted for this one - so it came a bit quicker than others.  The image is from the Simply Delightful collection by Pink Petticoat, and I've coloured it with Promarkers.  I added a little distressing to the panel to add some depth.  I mounted the image panel onto a piece of black gloss card cut to size with my trusty Spellbinders dies.  Finally, I added a tiny gem to the base of the lamp!  Clean, simple, quick!  And I love it!

Image:  Pink Petticoat - Simply Delightful
Promarkers:  Magenta, Cerise, Ice Grey 1
Spellbinders:  Long Classic Rectangles Lg (S4-142) die #3, Long Classic Scalloped Rectangles Lg (S40143) die #3
Accessories:  Card and gem from stash

Before I finish for this morning, I have to welcome Shirley-Anne to my band of followers - so nice of you to join me!

I'll be back later today as I've got another couple of cards to upload to various challenges.  But first I really do have to do some ironing - my least favourite job in the world!!

The wind, which had dropped a bit yesterday, is back in full force and one of my garden fence panels has broken!!  It's such a pain, and I can't get it fixed until the wind has dropped a bit.  And it sounds like the roof is going to take off at any moment - it sounds really scary!!!  Any way, see you all later!!

Wow; I'm impressed. I am not a CAS type and always in awe when I see a handmade CAS beauty like you made. But it's also Chic And Stunning. I love it. And how clever to distress that panel; it's a perfect soft finishing touch!
