Birthday Card for my Aunt

.... Good afternoon! I've been busy working on my monthly dyalogs and not making any cards. However, it's my aunt's birthday on Thursday and I had to make a card for her. In August 2020 I made a number of birthday cards using the Spotlight Sentiments stamp set - a good set for basic cards. I found one of the cards in my stash and dressed it up a bit. Here's the card:

Stamps: Dylusions - Eat Me; MFT - Spotlight Sentiments; Gina K - Hexagon Fun, On the Inside
Inks: Kaleidacolor - Desert Heat; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
Accessories: White Card; Copic Markers; Nuvo - Midas Aquashimmer Brush

I'm submitting this to Addicted to Stamps and More! - ATSM#443 where the theme is birthdays, and to Happy Little Stampers Birthday Challenge - HLSBC#04 where it's anything goes.

This was so easy to make as the note card had already been stamped and I got the cupcake image from my stash of Dylusions images that I have already cut out for use. I coloured the cupcake with Copic markers to match the stamped background. I added some shimmer to the frosting with a gold tone aquashimmer brush. On the inside of the card I added a birthday greeting a row of tiny cupcakes.

That's all from me today - hopefully, I'll be posting again soon.

Belated Birthday Wishes ....

.... Hi! Surprise! It's been a while since I just posted a card. I started today's card last year when I made a several cards using MFT's Spotlight Sentiments stamps and different inks. I finished some off at the time, but several were just left with a stamped panel. That's how this one started out, here's the end result:

Stamps: MFT - Spotlight Sentiments; Lawn Fawn - Blue Skies; Avery Elle - Handwritten Notes
Inks: Kaleidacolor - Fresh Greens; Versafine - Onyx Black; Versafine Clair - Nocturne; Gina K - Key Lime, Christmas Pine, Stormy Sky
Dies: Gina K - Master Layouts 2; Lawn Fawn - Blue Skies
Accessories: White Card; SU Card - Granny Apple Green; Copic Markers; Clear Embossing Powder; Nuvo - Clear Aqua Shimmer Brush

I'm submitting this card to Seize the Birthday - STB#219 where the toppers option is Travel, I think a hot air balloon trip counts!

I used the smaller layering panels from Master Layouts 2 to cut a mat layer of green card and a white stitched edge panel. I stamped a number of clouds on the white panel in black ink. I adhered the panel to the centre of my ready-made card. I used my MISTI to stamp the larger hot air balloon from Blue Skies onto a piece of white card, removed it and coloured with green Copic markers, returned it to the MISTI and stamped with black Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I used the matching die to cut out the balloon. I added lots of sparkle to the hot air balloon with a clear aqua shimmer brush. I added dimensional pads to the hot air balloon and adhered it, at a slight angle to suggest movement, to the panel. Inside the card, I cut a mat layer of green card. On the white panel I stamped the smaller hot air balloon in a bright green ink. I used one of my favourite sets to stamp the greeting. I stamped the main greeting in dark green and added the word 'belated' in dark green.

This card is for my nephew's birthday - and I missed the actual day, so I hope he likes this card. This is the card before adding the panel:

I've used both these cards now!! That's all from me today. See you again soon.

Happy Birthday Boy ....

... Morning! This is a very quick post to share a birthday card that I've made for my nephew - it's late! It should have reached him yesterday, but I forgot - bad aunty!! Here's the card:

Stamps: MFT - Spotlight Sentiments; My Mind's Eye - Boy Crazy; Avery Elle - Handwritten Notes
Inks: Kaleidacolor - Spectrum; Versafine - Onyx Black; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
Accessories: White Card; Copic Markers; Clear Embossing Powder; Nuvo - Clear Aqua Shimmer Brush

I'm submitting this card to Seize the Birthday - STB#209 - I'm skipping the topping of shades of green, and just celebrating a birthday.

I made the base card last year when I made a selection of spotlight sentiment birthday cards for my Seven Hills Craft blog post. I made some that simply had the sentiment stamped across the front. Today I pulled out the rainbow greeting as I think it's perfect for a 9 year old. I stamped the robot on white card, coloured him with Copic markers, restamped in Versafine and heat embossed with clear powder. I then fussy cut him out and glued him to the front of the card. I used a clear shimmer brush to add some sparkle to the robot - and you can see this in the photo!! I added a few of the embellishments from the stamp set. On the inside, I cut a piece of white card slightly smaller than the card. I stamped a fun greeting in black and added the 'belated' part in pink. I also stamped part of the robot off to the side in the Spectrum ink.

I think this is a fun card and while it's going to be late, I do hope that my nephew likes it. That's all from me today. I'm off to get a cup of coffee and then make a start on my Zoom Welsh class - almost at the end of the entry level course and loving it. Apologies for the photos - I've got a new lightbox to take photos and I'm learning the settings!

SHC - Spotlight Birthday ....

.... Morning! It's so hot and humid. I love the sunshine, but could do without the humidity. And the thunderstorms are just amazing - I watched one on Monday night that made the garden light up like midday!! And yesterday, I spent the afternoon sheltering in my craft room. I made several cards for my Seven Hills Craft blog post. Here's the first card:

Stamps: My Favorite Things - Spotlight Sentiments
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black
Dies: MFT - Basic Stitch Lines
Accessories: Hero Arts White Cards; Sakura Stardust Pens

I stamped the birthday sentiment along the bottom half of the card, used glitter pens to highlight the open letters - making it a real 'spotlight' and finished by adding some die cut detail above the stamping. The inside is blank.

I also made a birthday card which I'm submitting to The Male Room - TMR#141 where it's their 7th birthday, and also to Cupcake Inspiration Challenge - CIC#499 where the theme is nautical.

Stamps: My Favorite Things - Spotlight Sentiments, Whimsical Greetings; Lawn Fawn - Smooth Sailing
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black; Kaleidacolor - Caribbean Sea
Accessories: Hero Arts White Cards; Kaisercraft DP - Costal Escape; SU Card - Granny Apple Green

I stamped the sentiment directly on white card using a multi-coloured stamp pad. I then cut some design paper to go above and below the sentiment - the colour suggests sky and sea. I edged the design paper with thin strips of green card. I finished by adding a little sailboat and some birds flying off in the distance. On the inside, I cut a mat layer of green card and on the white panel stamped a greeting, added another little boat and some tiny stars.

I made a further eight cards using the birthday sentiment stamp - each card stamped in different coloured inks.

I can either use the cards as they are - so very clean and simple, or I can dress them up as I did above using design papers, die cut edges. This is a fun stamp and I'll share the finished cards soon. That's all for today. Bye for now.
