Great-Nephew's Birthday

..... Good morning!! It's been a while - February is flying by. I'm here today to share the card that I've made for my great-nephew, he'll be 5 years old tomorrow.

Stamps: My Mind's Eye - Boy Crazy; Lawn Fawn - Happy Happy Happy; Mama Elephant - Mixed Wishes Greetings
Inks: Gina K - Red Hot, Blue Raspberry, Wild Dandelion; Versafine - Onyx Black; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
Accessories: White Card; The Greetery - Pinwheel Party Stencils; Copics; Clear Embossing Powder; Lakeland - Foil Number

I'm submitting this card to the following challenges: CAS Colours & Sketches - CASC&S#530, Time Out Challenge - TOC#257, and CAS on Friday - CASOF#277 where the theme is male/boy.

I had such fun making this card. I started by stencilling the red and blue pinwheels directly onto the A2 note card. I used my MISTI to stamp the robot onto white card. I removed the image, coloured it with Copic markers, returned it to the MISTI and stamped with Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I then carefully fussy cut out the robot and edged the image with a black marker. I added a simple birthday greeting and a large bright yellow '5' at the top of the card.

I cut a piece of white card for the inside - I lightly brushed on red ink around the edge. I stamped the robot at the bottom left and added a simple birthday verse along with some yellow elements.

I'm heading to the local post box shortly to get this card in the post - I had thought that Elijah's birthday was next Tuesday, but in fact it's tomorrow!!! I hope he likes the cute robot - it's a favourite of mine for kids cards. That's all for now - see you soon.

Pinwheels and Robot ...

.... Morning! My great nephew - Nico-Lewis - was 5 years old on Tuesday and I had lots of fun making a special birthday card for him:

Stamps: C&9 - All the Birthdays, Birthday Stacks; My Mind's Eye - Boy Crazy; The Greetery - Pinwheel Party Stamps
Inks: Gina K - Applemint, Key Lime, Sea Glass, Turquoise Sea, Blue Lagoon; Versafine Claire - Nocturne
Accessories; White Card; The Greetery - Pinwheel Party Stencils; Lakeland - Die cut Number; Copic Markers; SU Card - Pear Pizzazz

I'm submitting this card to Never-Before-Used-Schtuff - NBUS#33. While I shared cards yesterday made with the Pinwheel suite, this was the first card I used them on!!

I used shades of blue and green to create the pinwheel garland at the top of the card. I stamped the robot directly on to the card and also onto a scrap of white card. I coloured the one on scrap with Copic markers and cut out the head and body and adhered them to the card. I stamped a bold birthday greeting and finished by adding a large silver number 5. Inside the card, I cut a mat layer of green card and on the white panel I added a birthday greeting along with some stars and circles.

I know that Nico has received this card and had a wonderful birthday with his mum and dad, and his friends. That's all for now. Off to have my hair cut now!

Happy Birthday Boy ....

... Morning! This is a very quick post to share a birthday card that I've made for my nephew - it's late! It should have reached him yesterday, but I forgot - bad aunty!! Here's the card:

Stamps: MFT - Spotlight Sentiments; My Mind's Eye - Boy Crazy; Avery Elle - Handwritten Notes
Inks: Kaleidacolor - Spectrum; Versafine - Onyx Black; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
Accessories: White Card; Copic Markers; Clear Embossing Powder; Nuvo - Clear Aqua Shimmer Brush

I'm submitting this card to Seize the Birthday - STB#209 - I'm skipping the topping of shades of green, and just celebrating a birthday.

I made the base card last year when I made a selection of spotlight sentiment birthday cards for my Seven Hills Craft blog post. I made some that simply had the sentiment stamped across the front. Today I pulled out the rainbow greeting as I think it's perfect for a 9 year old. I stamped the robot on white card, coloured him with Copic markers, restamped in Versafine and heat embossed with clear powder. I then fussy cut him out and glued him to the front of the card. I used a clear shimmer brush to add some sparkle to the robot - and you can see this in the photo!! I added a few of the embellishments from the stamp set. On the inside, I cut a piece of white card slightly smaller than the card. I stamped a fun greeting in black and added the 'belated' part in pink. I also stamped part of the robot off to the side in the Spectrum ink.

I think this is a fun card and while it's going to be late, I do hope that my nephew likes it. That's all from me today. I'm off to get a cup of coffee and then make a start on my Zoom Welsh class - almost at the end of the entry level course and loving it. Apologies for the photos - I've got a new lightbox to take photos and I'm learning the settings!

Happy Birthday ....

.... Wow! This weekend has come around so fast! I guess when you're busy, time just flies by. I'm here this morning with a birthday card that I made for my nephew. The card I shared yesterday was the one that my mum picked to send to her great-grandson, and this is the one we sent:

Stamps: Hero Arts - Line & Dot Pattern; My Mind's Eye - Boy Crazy; Whimsey - Bold Statements
Inks: Delicata - Golden Glitz; Versafine - Onyx Black; Gina K - Black Onyx, Red Velvet
Accessories: White Card; Copic Markers; Nuvo - Clear Aquashimmer Brush; Wink of Stella - Gold; Clear Embossing Powder; Glossy Accents

I'm submitting this card to The Male Room - TMR#131 where the theme is Team Colours. I've picked the home strip for Manchester United - red, black, gold and white. I'm also playing along with Time Out Challenge - TOC#157 where the theme is birthday with the option of die cut/fussy cut.

My nephew is 8 today. I wanted to make a fun card and found this super robot image in my stash.  I stamped the image, coloured it with Copic markers, restamped with Versafine and then heat embossed with clear powder, and then fussy cut out the image. I used a gold shimmer brush to colour the bolts and buttons on the robot, and used a clear shimmer brush for the rest of the robot. I stamped the background in soft gold as it reminded me of a circuit board, perfect to pair with a robot. I finished the front by stamping the greeting in the two main colours of Man U's home strip. On the inside, I stamped a fun greeting and added some cogs.

I hope that all my friends are keeping safe. Take care of yourselves. See you again soon.

Robbie Robot ....

....  Good morning!   My card today has been made for my great-nephew, Xander, who will be 2 years old on Saturday.  And it's going to be a bit late!! Oops!

Stamps: My Mind's Eye - Boy Crazy; Waltzingmouse - Mini Pinstripe Background, Compact Sentiments; Uniko Studio - Extra Time
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate; Memento - Tuxedo Black; Versafine - Onyx Black
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU DP - Marina Mist; SU Markers - Smoky Slate, Marina Mist, Crushed Curry, Copics

I was lucky enough to find this set of stamps at Archivers at their recent closing down sale and I got matching felt shapes too!  I think it's just perfect for a little boy.  I used the layout from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch - CTS#67, the colours from The Paper Players - PP#186 and the theme from Keep it Simple - KIS#35 to use stripes.  I stamped the robot onto white card, coloured it with Copics and then fussy cut it out and ran it through my Xyron to make it self-adhesive.  I stamped the mini pinstripe background in yellow, attached the robot and then cut it to size.  I cut a blue panel the same size and adhered both to the card.  I finished the front with the sentiment and some arrows pointing inside.  On the inside I made a mat layer of more blue design paper and on the white panel I stamped the robot in grey, added some yellow stars and a birthday greeting.  This card is already on its way to the UK, but it's going to be late!!

The last couple of days have been wonderful with mild temperatures and sunshine.  But what a difference today.  Kathryn has a snow day, it's coming down thick and fast, and we're expecting about 8" of snow over the day.  Good thing Jonathan brought his computer home, he can work from here.  Don't think I'm going out at all today.  That's all for now.  See you soon.
