Vintage Christmas ....

... it's been a while since I played along with the Jingle Belles challenge.  This week the Jingle Belles team want us to make Christmas cards that focus on the "Spirit of Christmas Past".

I don't normally make many vintage style Christmas cards - I tend to go for non-traditional!!  So I thought it would be fun to see what I could come up with.  At first I thought about stamping - my favourite crafting technique.  But then I remembered some lovely vintage papers that I got with Making Cards last year and decided to use them to make my card.

I'm rather pleased how well this turned out!!  The papers were designed by Nancy Watt and were free, and consequently have been sitting in my stash for a while.  I selected this jolly vintage Santa image from the toppers.  I think the idea is to cut out the image, but I decided to use my nesties and cut out the Santa and a coordinating mat in green.  I used the green poinsettia paper for the bottom of the card and added printed vellum at the top.  I found this lovely holly ribbon in my stash and decided to use this to cover the join!!  Finally I added the topper.  I traced around some of the poinsettia leaves with my glue pen and added glamour dust for some Christmas sparkle.  Another one for this year's Christmas collection ;)

Papers:  Vintage Christmas - Nancy Watt (Making Cards)
Spellbinders:  Lacey Circles (S4-293) die #4, Standard Circles Sm (S4-116) die #6
Accessories:  Glamour Dust; Card and ribbon from stash

That's all for now.  I'm off to the local market this morning - I want to get a teapot!!  So much nicer to make tea in a pot - for when I have visitors :)

Edited:  Just got back from town - very succesful, I have a sweet new teapot!!  I also got out my camera to take some photos of this card - I've added one - I think it's a bit clearer and shows the sparkle a bit more!!

See you later!

Love the ribbon - beautiful with these papers - which are languishing in a file of mine - ready for the right moment. Hope your search is fruitful.

This card is screaming vintage :)
Santa also makes me think of old Coca Cola commercials; speaking of vintage :)
Gorgeous card and a brilliant take on the challenge.
I have to catch up and I hope to see a picture of your new teapot in one of your posts:)
