Another birthday ....

... card to share with you all.  I've used this week's colours from CR84FN for the card and I've kept it really simple.

I made the card from a piece of 12" × 12" kraft card and cut it down to make a 15cm × 15cm card base.  I stamped the background and embossed it with detail gold.  Next I made the backing mat with the new Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares - these are fabulous!!  The centre is on very pale yellow paper which has a subtle gold fleck in it.  It took me six attempts to get this right - I have no paper left.  I couldn't get the alignment right - but I got there evenutally and I'm very pleased with the effect.

The card was for my sister-in-law, Charlotte, she and her brother Jonathan have the same birthday - 30th April!!  So this was sent before we went on holiday.

Stamps:  Waltzing Mouse - Pic-Nic Backgrounds, Frame-It
Spellbinders: Fleur de Lis Squares (S4-318) # 4
Accessories:  Card, embossing powder, glitter from stash

That's all for now.  Take care and I'll be back soon.

Your gold embossed background is super & I also like those nesties - rather striking. The mix of yellow & gold is not one I would gravitate to naturally but I rather like it - especially this design.

Glad you had a good trip home. Hope the jetlag is wearing off. Lovely card - the die looks amazing in gold mirri and makes a perfect frame for the stamping. T x

Hi Deborah, glad you made it home safely and I hope you're catching up time wise:0) Your card is so pretty. I love the gold mirri mat behind the cupcake layer and the background is wonderful;, that's quite a large area to stamp and emboss accurately, great job:0) xxx

The Stamped background and Fleur de Lis frame go really well, and the happy brithday border image is neat, it shows off the cup cake to a tea.
Shame you used all of the gold fleck paper, it looks fab
Happy inking

I don't think a cupcake could look more elegant! It looks like acupcake you would but at a from a fine choclatier. Mmmmm. Deb, the way you have accented the background and frame in gold to go with theFleur de lis frame is awesome. It ties eveything together!

Fab card Deborah. Love the colours and frame. I keep 'almost' buying these stamps from Waltzing Mouse and have managed to stop myself so far... so I'm going to run away and pretend I've not seen your card now, so I don't get tempted again lol :o) Lisa x

Hi Deborah. Hope you've had a good rest and it's feeling good to be home! I love this card - the darker background really makes the paler cupcake panel stand out. Love the frame too. Vx
