Rainbow Postage Birthday Card

.... Hello!! It's been a few days and somehow we're in March already! I'm here to share a birthday card that I've made:

Stamps: Waffle Flower - Postage Collage, Postage Collage Fall; Mama Elephant - Birthday Messages, Mixed Wishes Greetings; Lawn Fawn - Rain or Shine Before 'n' Afters; The Stamping Village - Birthday
Inks: Gina K - Red Hot, Tangerine Twist, Wild Dandelion, Lucky Clover, Ocean Mist, Blue Raspberry, Medium Lilac, Passionate Pink; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
Dies: Waffle Flower - Postage Collage Die A2
Accessories: White & Black Card; Waffle Flower Stencil - Postage Collage Colouring Stencil; Copic Markers; Glitter

I'm submitting this card to AAA Colourful - AAAC#01 where we can use the rainbow of colours - this is a new challenge and one I'm delighted to join. I'm also playing along with Seize the Birthday - STB#278 - I've skipping the colour and just joining the anything birthday goes.

The postage stamp style card is so popular and I just love it - it can be made to suit any and all themes. This is a rainbow birthday card. I used a mix of stamps and stencils and Copic markers to add colour to the candles and rainbow. I've also added glitter to the flames, the cake and the end of the rainbow. I layered the finished panel on black card and added the whole lot to the front of an A2 note card.

Inside the card, I cut a mat layer of black card. On the white panel, I added a fun birthday greeting along with a row of party balloons - coloured rainbow fashion.

This card is for my niece, Catherine, she has her birthday on Saturday - I'm getting it in the post today to make sure it arrives on time. That's all for today - see you again soon.

SHC - Floral Birthdays

Morning!! I'm here with my weekly Seven Hills Craft blog post. Today I have a couple of floral birthday cards to share with you:

Stamps: Concord & 9th - In Bloom; Mama Elephant - Birthday Messages; Altenew - Just a Number
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black; Versafine Clair - Nocturne; Gina K - Lemon Drop, Wild Dandelion, Applemint, Keylime, Warm Cocoa, Soft Stone
Accessories: White Card; SU Card - Daffodil Delight, Grey Granite; C&9 - In Bloom Stencils

I'm submitting this card to AAA Birthday - AAAB#33 where they want us to use two favourite colours.

I used my MISTI to stamp the large image onto white card. I removed the image and used the matching stencils to add colour to the flowers and leaves. In the stencil set there is a stencil that allows us to add stripes to the image. I used a soft grey ink for the stripes. To finish the panel I stamped a tiny birthday greeting to the bottom right coner of the panel. I rounded the corners of the finished panel and layered it on yellow and grey mats. I adhered the finished panel to the front of a square note card. Inside the card, I cut a mat layer of yellow card. On the white panel, I added a fun birthday greeting along with a couple more flowers stamped in yellow.

My next card uses a water spray to give a totally different look to the same stamp:

Stamps: Concord & 9th - In Bloom; Avery Elle - Inside Birthday Greeting
Inks: Versafine Clair - Nocturne; Gina K - Dusty Rose, Red Velvet
Accessories: White Card; SU Card - Raspberry Ripple; Zig Clear Color Brushes

I'm submitting this card to The Flower Challenge - TFC#64 where they want to see a monochromatic colour theme, and to CAS Mix Up Card Challenge - CASMU#94 where they want to see loose watercolour.

I used Zig Clear Color brushes to add colour to the image and lightly spritzed with water before stamping on regular white card stock. I allowed the stamp to sit on the card to ensure that all the colour transferred to the card. I like the loose texture that this technique gives. When completely dry, I added a bold birthday greeting at the top of the panel. I layered the panel on red card and added it to a white note card. Inside, I cut a mat layer of red card. On the white panel, I added a simple birthday greeting and another flower stamped to match the front of the card.

That's all from me today. As always thanks for stopping by and leaving comments - I really do appreciate them. See you soon.

SHC - Going Dotty ....

.... Hello and good morning! I'm here with my weekly Seven Hills Craft blog post. I've been playing with my new Altenew stamps and dies (I went very slightly mad when the new release came out). I'll start with a card that Kat has nicked to send to her best friend.

Stamps: Altenew - Friends Forever, Dots & Boxes
Inks: Kaleidacolor - Cappucino Delight
Dies: Altenew - Friends Forever
Accessories: White Card; SU Card - Crumb Cake; Copic Markers; Kaisercraft DP - Curiosity; Nuvo - Midas Aquashimmer Brush

I'm submitting this card to Cardz 4 Galz - C4Glz#138 where they want to see cards that feature Cocktails, Wine or Coffee; mine's got coffee! What else??

I used kraft card to make the card base. Next I stamped the large dotty grid background using a Kaleidacolor inkpad. I slightly offset the image to the upper right, to give a narrow clear border. Next I stamped the large coffee mug onto white card, I cut it out with the matching die. I stamped the mug band part again on a scrap of design paper, cut it out and adhered it to the mug. I stamped one of straws, the hearts and the outline BFF letters onto white card, used Copics to colour them, and cut them out with the matching dies. I adhered the coffee mug and straw to the left of the card front and added the letters at the bottom. I used a golden tone aquashimmer brush to add sparkle to the hearts and letters. On the inside of the card, I cut a panel of white card slightly smaller then the base. I stamped one of the sentiments from Friends Forever, added another coffee mug, edged the panel with an orange marker and adhered it to the card base.

My next card is a masculine birthday card:

Stamps: Altenew - Dots & Boxes; Mama Elephant - Birthday Messages
Inks: Memento - Paris Dusk; Stampin' Up! - Night of Navy, Soft Suede; Gina K - Sandy Beach
Dies: Altenew - Burlap Texture; Concord & 9th - Birthday
Accessories: White Card; SU Card - Crumb Cake, Night of Navy; Nuvo - Midas Aquashimmer Brush; Glossy Accents

I'm submitting this card to Love to Craft Challenge Blog - LTCCB#54 where it's always Anything Goes, and to Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies - HLSAGD#01.

I stamped the dotty grid background in navy on a craft card base. Next, I used the burlap die to cut a navy panel for the centre of the card. I decided not to have any stamping on the front of this card, so I made the greeting with an older Concord & 9th die set. I die cut the words 'Happy Birthday' and the banner several times. I layered up the letters and word to give dimension and adhered them on top of the burlap panel. I added a couple of birthday banners to the top of the card and finished by adding sparkle with a gold shimmer brush. I also added some glossy accents to the word 'birthday'. On the inside, I cut a panel of white card onto which I stamped the dotty background, this time in a soft kraft colour. I finished with a sweet little birthday greeting in navy.

You can actually see the gold shimmer in these photos.

Well, that's all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by and for your comments, they are always much appreciated. Take care and be safe.

Cupcake Wishes ...

... Good morning! Yes, I know, I'm posting again today, but I have a very good reason. It's Kat's 19th birthday today and probably the last one she's going to be sharing with us at home. She's off to university on Saturday. But today, we get to wish Kat the happiest of days and give her a card, some presents (most of which are already packed in the car), and to share the day with her. This is the card we gave her:

Stamps: Stampotique - Glimmering Hope; Mama Elephant - Birthday Messages; Impression Obsession - Inner Witch
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black; Versafine - Onyx Black
Accessories: White Card; Copie Markers; Sakura Stardust Pens; Clear Embossing Powder

I'm submitting this card to a couple of challenges - Cupcake Inspirations Challenge - CIC#502, just love these colours, and to Seize the Birthday - STB#199 where I've gone for Anything Goes for a Birthday.

I know that many of you will think that this isn't really a birthday card. But Kat is a Goth Princess. She has always loved all things Halloween, spooky, dark and this card is perfect. It has cake, albeit a bit different to usual birthday cakes! I stamped the little cupcakes on white card, coloured the images with Copic markers, restamped them with Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I then very carefully cut them out and edged them all with black ink. I added sparkle to all the cake decorations with Sakura Stardust pens. I stamped the image of the girl/witch on white card, added some soft colour and then carefully cut her out. I adhered all the images directly onto a white cardbase. I finished the front by adding a simple, fun sentiment. On the inside, I kept it really simple with another birthday greeting and another little cupcake.

I took a close up photo of the cupcakes so that you can see the shimmer and sparkle on the cakes.

I can't believe how quickly the last 19 years have gone by. Kat has grown into a wonderful young woman. She's caring, passionate in her beliefs, confident, considerate, curious, inquisitive, respsonsible, a bit nerdy, loving, intelligent, generous and above all, she's her own person. I'm proud of this young women - but then I'm a bit biased 😊. That's all for today. See you again tomorrow.
