LIM22 - number 3 ....

... you know, sometimes a challenge just gets into your mind and won't let go.  That's what's happened with the shades of blue challenge from Less is More.  After I posted my card this morning I went to craft class and for a change I actually made a card while I was there - nothing complicated, just an oriental decoupage card (will show that later this week), but while there I got an idea for another LIM22 card.

I've got a couple of lovely flower stamps, designed by Dawn Bibby, that haven't seen as much ink as they should have.  So I decided to bring them out to play!  I've gone for a landscape DL card as it suits the shape and size of the image.  I used the lovely Kaleidacolor ink set in Blue Breeze - an easy and very pretty way to get lots of shades of blue - to stamp the image.  I then cut it out using my nesties and matted it onto a piece of dark blue satin mirri card.  Looks lovely!  Recently I bought another Dawn Bibby set from QVC which contained a smaller version of the flower stamp and I've stamped this into the corner of the card.  Clean, simple and elegant.  I'm really pleased how this one has turned out.  I've not put a sentiment on as I'm giving the card to my Mum.  I'm making up a selection for her to take home - and this is the first.

Stamps:  Personal Impressions - Flower Swirls (Big) DB196, Flower Swirls (Small) DB026)
Ink:  Kaleidacolor - Blue Breeze
Spellbinders:  Long Rectangles Lg (S4-142) die # 4, Long Scalloped Rectangles Lg (S4-143) die # 4
Accessories: Card and satin mirri from stash

I have to say that the thumbnail layout on LIM this week looks absolutely gorgeous with all the pretty blue cards.  Now, I'm off to make dinner for us - Spag Bol and a nice glass of wine!  Mum and I have been enjoying the sun this afternoon - we planted some more plants.  My garden is looking wonderful!!  That's all for now.  I'll be back later, see you then.

This is my favourite of your LIM Blue cards - I do love flowers & this is brilliant with the smaller version of the main image used as a corner accent. The Kaleidacolor works really well too.
