Sunrise Colours for Christmas ...

.... Good afternoon. I've been a bit quite on here this week. On Tuesday the doctor confirmed that I have a mild case of shingles and he's given me some medications to help reduce the pain and the rash. They seem to be working well. I'm just glad this is only a mild case - can't imagine how any copes with a severe case!!

Anyway, moving on to much more pleasant things. I've been messing about in my craft room making more Christmas cards today. I have a nice clean, simple and non-traditional card to share with you now:

Merry Christmas - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Stampin' Up! - Star of Light
Inks: SU - Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo; Versafine - Onyx Black
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Melon Mambo; Gems; Spectrum Noir - Clear Sparkle

I inked up this beautiful star with yellow, orange and bright pink - all very non-traditional colours for a Christmas card.I added some sparkle to the star with a clear Spectrum Noir sparkle brush - it has a more frosty glimmer than Wink of Stella. I stamped the sentiment in bold black and finished with a few gems. I adhered the panel to a bright pink card base. On the inside I cut another white panel on which I stamped a greeting and a few more stars.

I'm submitting this to CAS Colours & Sketches - CASC&S#202 where this week they would like us to use any of the 2016 colour challenges to make a seasonal card. I picked the colours from April challenge #168. I'm also playing along with CAS on Sunday - CASOS#97 where they want to see Christmas cards; this challenge is new to me and I hope to play along with them more often.

December has kicked off here in Northville with a really dull, grey day. It's not very cold, but there's no sunshine and it is generally ugh! A perfect reason to stay in! Bye for now.

So sorry to hear you are unwell with shingles, I hope that it soon goes and you are back to your well self. Lovely to see you have some energy to create though and what a fabulous CAS beauty you have made. LOVING your non traditional colour scheme, but it works perfectly with your stamp choice. The added sparkle/shimmer is perfect. Thank you so much for joining in on the fun at CC&S. Hugs Bev x

Oh these colours are just perfect for your Christmas card - who would have thought it! Totally smitten. Thanks for playing at CC&S.
Rest, sleep and rest again is the best way to cope with shingles, no get on with life and trying to pretend you're ok, just give in.
