Long and fruity ....

... that's this card - it's for two of my favourite challenges.  CAS-ual Fridays want us to create a 4" × 9" card (pretty much a DL card) and keep it clean and simple, while over at Less is More, Chrissie and Mandi are on the Lucky dip week and are "feeling fruity".  So I decided to combine these challenges.

Less is More is on week 26 - it's six month anniversary!!!  I started playing along with this challenge as soon as it started and I've managed to play most weeks - I did miss about three when I was in Mumbai - but I do try to get a card in every week.  Chrissie and Mandi - thank you both for a super challenge!

I've realised that I don't actually have many fruit stamps - a pear, apple and strawberry - that's the lot!!  So I went with a couple of pears and an apple.  I stamped them onto plain white card and coloured them with my Promarkers.  For the card base I used a pale cream DL card onto which I sprayed a little Cosmic Shimmer Mist.  Once the fruit were completely dry, I cut them out and added them to the card.  I selected a simple sentiment and used my stamp-a-ma-jig to position it accurately.  Finally, I did a hand drawn frame.  I'm really pleased with this card.

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Peace and Plenty
Inks:  Memento - Tuxedo Black
Promarkers: Forest Green, Pear Green, Bright Green, Lime Green, Apple, Poppy, Walnut, Raw Sienna, Warm Grey 1
Accessories:  Cosmic Shimmer Mist - Rich Gold; Card from stash

We've been having a lovely holiday since Jonathan came home.  On Monday we all went to the movies to see Cars 2.  It was okay, but not as good as Cars, but we enjoyed it.  We had a lovely lunch out and did a bit of window shopping - lots of fun for us all.  Then it started to drizzle a bit, so we headed home.  And this was really good as it poured with rain.  Even after the rain, it remained really hot and humid.  And today was lots of fun as we visited the Blue Planet Aquarium - a huge variety of fish to see and photograph!!  Well, it wouldn't be a family day out if Jonathan and I didn't have our cameras :)  I'll have to share some photos with you later this week, as I've not had time to sort them out yet.

I won't get chance to post tomorrow as I'm off to hospital in the morning.  You may remember that I've been having a problem with my left knee, and it was diagnosed as a torn cartilage which needed to be removed.  Well, that's happening tomorrow.  I'm feeling a tad nervous, which I know is silly, but there you are!  It's only a day case, so I'll be back later tomorrow and hopefully I'll be able to play in my craft room on Thursday.  Now, I'm off downstairs to have a last cup of coffee until after the surgery.

Take care and I'll see you soon.

I love everything about this card...the "weight" to the right, tapering off to the left with the use of the mist and the mist highlighting your gorgeous fruit.

This is terrific Deborah.. love the splattered effect and great colouring.
I had my knee 'tidied up' some months ago and was up and walking around without crutches really quickly.
