CR84FN27 ....

..... what a treat we have in store for you this week at CR84FN - really elegant and feminine - bright pink, grey and cream - how lovely are they?

Our beautiful inspiration photos are courtesy of Adam George at embracelife photography - his site is well worth a visit, and I've just spent ages browsing the lovely pictures.  And I think Scott's quote this week is really great - sometimes I have a last minute panic!!  But not this time :)

I attend a local Craft Group in my village - there are nine of us in total.  We all like to make cards - some of our group like decoupage (very detailed), some like embroidery, some like parchment craft and some of us love stamping.  So we learn lots from each other.  And when it comes to birthdays we really enjoy making cards for each other.  Barbara celebrated her birthday last week on Friday 5th May, so maybe I should have used last week's colours, but I wanted to make a card using this week's colours - so I did!!

I used a piece of textured cream card from my stash to make the base card and the leaves.  In my scrap bin I found a lovely bit of bright pink textured foil paper and I cut a piece for the card.  On to that I layered a lovely bit of crocheted cream lace (it has a slight shimmer).  I used my Spellbinders die to cut out the a holographic silver Lotus pendant.  And onto this I attached a single rose blossom - stamped in memento ink and coloured with Promarkers.  I shaded the leaves with chalks.  Finally, I added a birthday sentiment in a soft grey ink.  Very pretty and very feminine.

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Roses in Bloom, Sweethearts
Inks:  Stampin' Up! - Basic Grey
Spellbinders:  Foliage (S4-328), Lotus Pendant (S4-269)
Promarkers:  Magenta, Cerise, Baby Pink, Peach
Accessories:  Textured cream card, pink foil paper, silver holographic mirri card and chalks - from stash

As always you can get more inspiration with this week's colours from the rest of the Design Team:

Lin - Guest Designer for May

We had lots of lovely entries last week and I'm really looking forward to seeing your creations with this week's colours.  Have fun!!  I had withdrawal pains while I was away in India, so it's nice to get into my craft room to the smell of inks and paper, and I plan to spend most of Sunday catching up with some challenges.  So please come by again tomorrow - when I'll share a challenge or two with you!!  Bye for now.

Love the whole effect, the lotus cut out really shows off the beautiful flower and complements the lace layer, leaving just the right area for you to see the sentiment.

Love thew ay the chalked leaves are soften the edges of the lotus pendant mat & at the same time echo the shape. The pinks are lovely with cream & grey & the lace adds such a lovely texture to the whole. Very pretty & as you say rather feminine.
