TMR - Technique ....

... Good evening! It's been a really busy week here at Chez Frings! I've started to sort through our stuff to try and reduce what we take to the new house - it's taking much longer than I expected. We have accumulated so much stuff! Hey ho! I decided that I'd spend some time in my craft room today and I finally made my card for our new challenge at The Male Room - TMR#30. I must apologise to my teamies for being so late! This week we have a technique challenge - we want you to MAKE IT MOVE. Your masculine themed project must have moving part(s). Here's my take:

I got the theme from the photo inspiration graphic at The Challenge - TC#62 - I used the map on the back wall as the inspiration. The colours are from Colour Q - cQc#331 - the shades of blue work really well for a masculine card.

I took advantage of the videos on our blog and decided to make a spinner card. I cut a mat layer of island indigo card. I cut two panels of map design paper, one was adhered to the card and I cut out a circle (as per the video instructions) from the other piece. I stamped the plane on white card, coloured it with Copics and cut it out with the matching die. I stamped the sentiment on the paper before attaching the panel with dimensional tape. I used a penny to make the spinner part of my card. Here are a couple of photos showing how the plane moves around the circle:

On the inside I cut a mat layer of island indigo and on the white panel I stamped a globe which I coloured with copics. This card is going into my stash.

I've used the sketch from The Challenge - TC#54 for the layout and the colours are from Colour Throwdown - CTD#372, so pretty.

I think this coffee set from Bev is just fab.  I stamped the cup on kraft card and cut it out.  I coloured the lid with a white pigment pen.  I added a little cup holder by stamping the flower on some scrap card and then cutting to fit the cup.  I used kraft card to make the base and adhered a strip of silver mirri card at the bottom.  I cut a panel of white card, smaller then the card which I embossed with dots and spots.  I added sparkle to some of the dots, but sadly you can't really see it in the photo!  I stamped the little flowers in Versamark on vellum, heat embossed them with silver powder and then cut them out.  I coloured the reverse with Copic markers and added lots of sparkle to the front of the flowers with a clear Wink of Stella brush.  I finished the front with a simple greeting.  On the inside I cut a mat of silver mirri card and on the white panel added some coffee beans, a greeting and a small flower.

I think Brass is cute, although he's totally mechanical and perfect for Creepmas.  I covered the card with design paper and used the same colours for the image.  I printed Brass on white card, coloured him with Copic markers and cut him out with a wonky shape.  I added lots of little snowflakes after I'd coloured the image.  I edged the image with a Copic marker for a little definition.  I finished the front of the card with a simple greeting.  On the inside I cut another piece of the design paper for the mat layer and added a Christmas greeting to the white panel.

AC - Naughty or Nice - 12 DOC ....

..... Hello and welcome to the 12 Days of Creepmas.  What's that, I can hear some of you ask?  Well, Creepmas is a friendly push back at the retail companies in America and the UK who decide that it's okay to put out Christmas decorations, presents, etc before Halloween has even finished!!!  So this is for those of us (and the number is increasing) who really enjoy our Halloween and quite like to play with Christmas too!  The 12 Days of Creepmas Blog Hop is run by Smeared Ink and there's a list of everyone playing along at the bottom of this post.  Do drop by and say Hi!

I absolutely love this guy - I think he's very confused as to whether it's Halloween or Christmas.  I used the colours from this week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge - CIC#338.  I found a new challenge yesterday, The Challenge - TC#53 - I don't know how I missed it, but I did.  This week the team would like a non-traditional Christmas Card - yep!!!

I printed the image on white card, coloured it with Copic markers, added some sparkle - gold and clear - to the Christmas ornaments, his crown and to the frills on his costume.  I layered the finished image on some gold mirri card and attached it to the card.  I found a sentiment that works with the image - he's not sure whether he's naughty or nice!!  On the inside I cut a mat layer of gold card and on the white panel added a pumpkin and Santa hat along with a message.
