Scary Creepmas - 12DOC ...

.... Hello.  It's Wednesday and only two more days to go before the big day!  It's also the last day of the 12 Days of Creepmas Blog Hop sponsored by Smeared Ink.  I hope you've enjoyed my venture into the odd mix of Halloween and Christmas that is Creepmas.  Our daughter, Kat, has loved all the cards that I've made and when she saw this image by Rick St Dennis, she just said "That's my Christmas card!!!  Love him!"  So, here is my final card, especially for our unique and much loved daughter, Kat:

Scary Creepmas - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Rick St Dennis Digi - Creepmas Scary Creepmas; Uniko - Essentially Christmas; Paper Source - Joy & Cheer
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Real Red
Dies: Spellbinders - Lables 25 (S5-077) #5
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Kaisercraft DP - Holly Jolly; Copic Markers; Wink of Stella - Clear; Glossy Accents; Glitter

I have to admit that I love this creepy pumpkin Santa as much as Kat does.  I printed him on white card, coloured him with Copic markers and cut out the image with a die.  I added tinsel glitter to his hat, cuffs and collar.  I used a clear Wink of Stella brush on all the little Creepmas lights and then added Glossy Accents.  I covered the card with some bold red design paper featuring festive words and adhered the finished image directly on top.  On the inside I cut another piece of design paper and added a simple greeting and some stars.  I'm submitting this card to the current Colour Throwdown Challenge - CTD#373 where they want any Christmas card, and this really is a Christmas card, in any colours.  I'm also submitting this to Left of Centre - LOC#109/110 where it's Anything Goes.

Here's a close up of the finished image showing all the lovely sparkle and shimmer - I took this photo a few days ago - when it was much brighter!

Merry Creepmas - 12DOC ...

....  Morning!  How are your holiday preparations going?  We're all getting quite excited here.  And it's lovely to have both Jonathan and Kat at home - we're all on our holiday.  It's also day 11 of the 12 Days of Creepmas, sponsored by Smeared Ink.  If you look at today's card really quickly, you might almost think it's entirely Christmas, but it isn't, check out the letters!!!

Merry Creepmas - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Rick St Dennis Digi - Creepmas Bones; Memory Box - Dancing Snowflakes; Stampin' Up! - Endless Wishes; Paper Source - Joy & Cheer
Inks: Memento - London Fog; Stampin' Up! - Bashful Blue, Pistachio Pudding, Pretty in Pink
Dies: Die-namics - Zig-Zag Stitched Rectangle Stax #5
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Smoky Slate; Copic Markers; Glitter

I really like the soft pastel colours and all the sparkle on the large sentiment.  I printed it on white card, coloured with Copic markers and cut it out with a die.  I used a glue pen to go over all the letters, allowed it to get touch dry and then added glitter - lots of it!  I cut a panel of white card slightly smaller than the base and stamped the background image of snowflakes in soft grey.  I've adhered the sentiment panel flat to the card, so it's easy to post.  On the inside I cut a mat layer of pale grey card and on the white panel added a Christmas greeting and some pastel snowflakes.  I also took a close-up of the sparkle - so pretty!

Get Lit - 12DOC ...

.... Morning all!  We're at day 10 of 12 Days of Creepmas, you've almost made it to the end!  I've a cute Creepmas card this morning:

Get Lit - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Smeared Ink Digi - Occasions Grumpie
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Kaisercraft DP - Home for Christmas; Copic Markers; Glitter; Wink of Stella - Clear; Glossy Accents

There's absolutely no stamping on this card.  The image is a Grumpie and I got him last year as a digital download, but checking Smeared Ink's blog, it appears that he's only available as a rubber stamp now.  I had lots of fun colouring this image.  I used Copic markers, clear Wink of Stella on his hat, glitter on the band, and glossy accents on all the little Christmas lights.  Once dry I cut him out.  I used the sketch from last week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge - FMS#216; I had fun with the sketch and turned it to make a landscape card.  I used several different sheets of design paper, along with a sentiment square from the paper pack on this card.

Merry Creepmas - 12DOC ....

.... Morning.  Goodness, we've reached day 9 of 12 Days of Creepmas, sponsored by Smeared Ink. I'm having such fun making cards that combine elements of Halloween and Christmas.  I think I've only made one really scary card, most of the rest of my cards are on the quirky side, rather than scary.  Here's today's card:

Merry Creepmas - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Rick St Dennis Digi - Jolly Jester 2016; Paper Source - Joy & Cheer
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Perfect Plum
Dies: Lil Inkers - Dual Stitched Ovals - #4
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Kaisercraft DP - Violet Crush; Copic Markers; Wink of Stella - Clear, Silver; Sakura Stardust - Purple

I've used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch - CTS#152 for the layout of my card.  I used some design paper that coordinates with the colours I used on the Jester.  I cut out the image using a die and added some paper flags to the back of the image (I didn't want to hide the Jester) and adhered him to the card base.  I used a shimmer pen to add little dots around the image.  I finished the front with a simple greeting that I printed on Safmat (a Letraset product) which goes on clear.  On the inside I used another piece of design paper for the mat and added a simple, bold Christmas greeting.

We're almost at the end of term for Kat - she can hardly wait.  Poor girl is so tired.  High School in the States, well here in Michigan, starts really early - she's in school about 6.50am and classes start about 7.15am.  I think all her friends are really looking forward to two weeks off school.  And Jonathan finishes work on Friday too!  That's when our Christmas starts!!!  That's all for now.  Byeee!

Creepmas Wishlist - 12DOC ....

...  Morning!  Welcome to Day 7 of the 12 Days of Creepmas sponsored by Smeared Ink.  I am having such fun making these cards that blend elements of Halloween with Christmas. If you're not sure what Creepmas is all about, it's basically a fun way to push back at retailers and the like who insist on putting out Christmas products before Halloween has even finished.  It's a case of let's spread the fun and it is in no way meant to offend!  A favourite element of mine in Christmas cards is snowmen.  The current challenge at One Layer Christmas Card Challenge - OLXCC#23 is to feature snowman, and that inspired my Creepmas card:

Creepmas Wishlist - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Rick St Dennis Digi - Creepmas Early Thaw
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Kaisercraft DP - Christmas Carol; Copic Markers; Wink of Stella - Clear; Glossy Accents; String

Perhaps you can guess why this card isn't exactly suitable for the snowman challenge - yes, it's not one layer!!  Silly me!  While it's not suitable for the challenge, I did feel it important to acknowledge the inspiration!

I printed the snowman on white card, coloured with Copic markers, cut him out and added lots of sparkled with a clear Wink of Stella brush.  I cut some lovely festive red design paper and covered the card.  I found a Christmas wishlist tag in the paper pad, so I amended to read Creepmas Wishlist, edged it with a black marker, wrote a list and attached it to the card.  On the inside I used another piece of design paper for the mat layer.  I edged the white panel with a black pen and finished with a simple date label.

The weather here in Michigan this weekend is amazing - really warm. In fact yesterday we reached almost record warm temperatures, and at the time of typing this post (Saturday evening at 6.10pm, it's still 14°C (that's 56°F).  Today we are expected to set a new record high for December.  I'm really enjoying it!  That's all for now.  See you soon.

Creepmas Cheer - 12DOC ....

...  Hello again!  We've reached Day 6 of the 12 Days of Creepmas sponsored by Smeared Ink.  I had lots of fun making today's card:

Creepmas Cheer - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Smeared Ink Digi - Bottoms Up Grumpie; Stampin' Up! - Making Spirits Bright
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black; SU - Island Indigo; Memento - Tuxedo Black
Dies: Poppy Stamps - Snowflake Oval Frame
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Island Indigo; SU DP - Winter Frost; Silver Mirri Card; Copic Markers; Wink of Stella - Clear

I love this little guy - he looks so cross being stuck in the champagne glass!  I printed him on white card, coloured with Copic markers and added lots of clear sparkle all over the image.  I die cut the oval frame from silver mirri card, which I adhered to the image with matte medium.  I based the layout for this card on the sketch at Sketch Saturday - SS#390 - I had lots of fun with the layers.  I used some old SU design paper - it looks very frosty!  And, as there are lots of snowflakes on this card, I'm submitting it to Inkspirational - INK#97 where the cue word is "FLAKE".  On the inside I cut a mat layer of design paper and on the white panel added a suitable greeting.

Deck the Halls - 12DOC ....

.... Hello again!  We've reached day 5 of the 12 Days of Creepmas sponsored by Smeared Ink.  I don't make 3D projects and tend towards clean and simple.  This card is a cute Creepmas card and is certainly clean and simple!

Deck the Halls - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Rick St Dennis Digi - Creepmas Tree Lights; Stampin' Up! - Christmas Messages, One Tag Fits All; Uniko - Jolly Christmas
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black
Dies: Lil Inkers - Dual Stitched Ovals #4
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Real Red; Copic Markers; Wink of Stella - Clear; Glossy Accents

I think this is one of my favourite images from Rick - he's a cute little demon who just wants to put up the lights!  Shame he gets into such a mess.  I printed him on white card, coloured him with Copic markers and cut him out with a stitch edge die.  I added clear sparkle to the lights, his eyes and horns and added glossy accents to the lights and his eyes.  I finished by drawing an eerie green glow around him.  I used bold red card for the base and adhered the image flat to the card.  I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to position the bold sentiment in the corner of the card, and added a few words on the image.  He's singing as he works!!  On the inside I cut a panel of white card and added some Christmas lights in the corner along with a Christmas greeting.

I'm submitting this card to Left of Centre - LOC#107 where the theme is Baa! Humbug! with Rick St Dennis.  I'm also playing along with Cardz for Guys - C4G#100 where the team want us to make Christmas cards with traditional colours, and you can't get much more traditional than red!!  I took a close-up photo of the image to show how the glossy accents really adds great detail:

I guess that some of you might be wondering what I plan to do with my Creepmas/Christmas cards. Fortunately I have several friends and some member of my family who just love the quirky nature of these cards.  They will be winging their way soon!  Listed below is the full 12 Days of Creepmas Blog Roll - do drop by and check out the creations.

AC - Merry Creepmas - 12DOC ....

.... Morning!  I'm running a bit late with this card, I should have finished it yesterday, but we were out at a photoshoot and by the time we got home and finished watched some TV, I was just too tired.  So I completed it this morning!  It's Day 4 of the 12 Days of Creepmas sponsored by Smeared Ink and I've got a fun, in a creepy sort of way, card to share with you:

Merry Creepmas - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Rick St Dennis Digi - Creepmas Tree Monster, Stampin# Up! - Wonderland; WMS - Alpine Christmas
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Cucumber Crush, Pistachio Pudding
Dies: Die-namics - Zig-Zag Stitched Rectangles Stax #5
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Kaisercraft DP - Holly Jolly; Copic Markers; Glitter; Glossy Accents; Wink of Stella - Clear

This one is a really quick and simple card.  I stamped this fabulous tree on white card, coloured his with Copic markers and cut it out with a die.  I added sparkle to the baubles using a clear Wink of Stella brush.  I used some glitter on his Santa hat and added glossy accents to his eyes.  I stamped a flurry of pale green snowflakes all round him.  I cut a panel of design paper and adhered that the the card.  I attached the die cut image and finished with a customised sentiment (also from the Kaisercraft paper pack).  On the inside I cut a mat layer of design paper and added a tag greeting on the white panel along with a few more snowflakes.

As I've got a lovely flurry of snowflakes falling on this card, I'm going to submit to Inkspirational - INK#97 where the cue word is FLAKE and also to The Paper Players - PP#274 where the theme is LET IT SNOW.  I took a close up of the tree so that you can see the glossy accents on his eyes - he's crazy.  You can find this fab Creepmas Tree Monster at Rick's Zibbet shop and he's currently on sale too!!!   Here's the 12 Days of Creepmas Blog Hop list:
