SHC - Happy Father's Day ...

.. Hello! I hope everyone is well and safe. I'm here today with my post for Seven Hills Craft blog - I've made a fun Father's Day card:

I'm submitting this card to Cardz 4 Guyz - C4G#246 who, as luck would have it, have Father's Day as their theme!!

At Kat's request I made this card for her to give to her dad on Father's Day. In case you've forgotten, that's on Sunday 21 June. Simply Celebrate is one of my favourite Lawn Fawn stamps sets as it's just so versatile. I think the balloons and stars are simple, fun image and can be customised so many different ways. I stamped the images 4 times, coloured with Copic markers, restamped and heat embossed with clear powder. I used the matching dies to cut out the images. I used my MISTI to position the greeting and stamped it in Versafine black ink and embossed it. For a change I used cream cardstock - I like the soft, warm look with all these shades of green and teal. I layered the cream panel on teal card, added them to the front of the card base and used dimensional pads to attach the balloons and stars. On the inside, I cut a teal mat layer and on the cream panel I created a sentiment.

I found the words in another Lawn Fawn stamp set and used them along with some cute little hearts. Kat is very pleased with this card and it's now sitting on my desk ready to give to Jonathan on 21 June.

ASM - Anything Goes ....

... Hello, good evening!  It's time for our new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!  This week it's the ever popular ANYTHING GOES challenge - whatever takes your fancy - clean, simple, layered, shabby - anything!  Our sponsor for this week's challenge is Lawn Fawn and the winner will get one set of stamps and one 6" × 6" pad of paper - both of the winner's choice.  So I had to make a card using my Lawn Fawn stamps:

I had such fun making this card.  I used the colour from the current Addicted to CAS challenge - ATCAS#59 where the cue word is GREEN.  I had to play along as greens/teals are my favourite colours.  I used the layout from Clean & Simple Stamping - FTL#3, they have gone back to the beginning and this is take two of the sketch.

I cut some design paper to cover the bottom third of the card - I really like this piece with lots of different patterns, shades of green and texture too.  I then stamped the chemistry glassware on white card, coloured each piece a different shade of green, cut them out with the matching die and adhered them to the card.  I added some sweet little hearts in all shades of green and finished the front with a greeting - love this one.  My degree is chemistry, so this set really appeals to the chemistry nerd in me :)  On the inside I cut a mat layer from another sheet of design paper and added a sentiment.  It's our wedding anniversary next month and I think this might be the card for Jonathan!

I really like the effect you get when using Wink of Stella - it's a subtle shimmer, but most photos don't really capture the shimmer, so I take close-ups, which are out of focus, as this seems to work.  Check out the glassware:

Baby card ....

... Hello again - yes, I know three posts in one day!!!  This is a quick post with a sweet little baby card that I've made for a couple of challenges:

Edited to add:  Ardyth has pointed out to me that this is monochromatic pinks and thus falls within the challenge at The Card Concept - CC#3!!!  Do you know, I even had that challenge in my note book and completely forgot to add it, silly me!

I've been thinking about the CASology challenge most of the week, trying to come up with something a bit different.  And this morning it came to me - you, me & baby makes three!  So I decided how to get that into a card.  I've used several sets - Lawn Fawn for the "you + me", Amy Tangerine for the ampersand and Docrafts for the baby bear and number.  I stamped the bear directly onto the card and again on design paper, coloured the bear and then adhered the cut out towel.  I stamped the ampersand onto card, heat embossed and then cut it out and attached it to the card with dimensional tape.  I stamped the two word bits directly on the card base and added the equals sign by hand.  On the inside I made a mat layer in pink and stamped a sweet sentiment.

I had a really great time this morning watching the Team Ice Skating competition on NBC sports channel.  It was live and I got to see most of the action.  I really enjoyed the Ice-Dance section and there's more to come this afternoon with the Ladies part of the competition.  Jonathan is down in Ohio attending a photo shoot and Kathryn is off to a friend's birthday party this evening and again tomorrow!  So in between the Olympics I have lots of time to craft - my idea of a perfect weekend!!  That really is all for now - see ya!

You & Me = Smiles ....

... Good morning from a very snowy Northville.  All this white stuff is the perfect excuse to stay indoors and craft.  So last night, while Jonathan ventured out (really) to a camera group meeting, I played and made a couple of cards.  Here's the first:

I used the colours from this week's Colour Throwdown Challenge - CTD#273 and the layout from the current Freshly Made Sketches - FMS#117.  I'm so pleased that the FMS DT extended the deadline for the sketch!

One of the big craft chains, Archivers, announced last week that they are closing down which is really sad.  Yesterday morning I visited and got a few new stamps sets - I arrived a day before the big reductions!  Silly me!  I used a couple of the new sets on this card.  The background is a large stamp from Hero Arts - my daughter, Kathryn, saw it and said that it was a must have!  I inked it up in Smoky Slate and stamped directly onto the card base.  I used my Die-namic flag die to cut a number of different sized flags and adhered them to the card.  I cut a white panel onto which I stamped the words, from Lawn Fawn, adhered them to the card base and added a line of faux stitching.  I finished the front with a tiny camera.  This card is for Jonathan - just because!!  I left the inside blank for me to write a message.

Canada and North America are experiencing some of the coldest weather they've had for years - it's come as a bit of a shock to us. Our first couple of winters in Michigan were very mild, but this year, not so much!!!  Round one of the snow clearance challenge was completed this morning, with the very kind assistance of a neighbour with a snow blower.  It's warmer today than yesterday, but still below 0°C.  The weather forecast is for more snow today and for a blast of really cold air to come down from the arctic.  They have issued wind chill warning for Monday through Wednesday, we're not expected to get above -10°C here, but it's going to be so much colder in the mid-West.  Kathryn is hoping for a few snow days!

I know that many of my UK friends are experiencing awful weather too with high winds and lots of rain and many areas being flooded.  Wherever you are keep safe.
