52CCT/WMSFC - 'Twas the night before Christmas ....

... Good morning everyone.  So, we have arrived at the first Saturday in December and, if you don't already know, there are only 18 days until Christmas!!!  As we are all very busy at this time of year we have decided to run this challenge for two weeks, so you have plenty of time to join in.  Our challenge this time is for you to make a card using any of our past 2013 challenges - colour, theme, recipe or sketch - the choice is up to you.  Here's my card:

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Festive Foliage, Twas the Night Before Christmas
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Gumball Green, Always Artichoke, Smoky Slate; Versafine - Onyx Black
Dies: Spellbinders - Circles Sm (S4-116) #2 &5, Pinking Circles Sm (S4-172) #5; Stampeddler Plus - Six Blind Mice
Accessories: SU Card - Real Red; Red Mirri Card; White Lustre Card; Black Card; Copics - R14, R17

I picked the March theme of Christmas Animals - my sweet mouse features on the front of the card and in the poem.  For the layout I used the sketch from our current challenge at Waltzingmouse Fanatics - WMSFC#7 - you still have time to join the fun!

I used Real Red card to make the card base and on the white panel I stamped the poem "A visit from St Nicholas", first published anonymously in 1823, but later attributed to Clement Clarke Moore.  It's a wonderful poem.  I created the Christmas wreath by cutting out a circle and repeatedly stamping one of the fir branches in several shades of green, once stamped I cut out the middle and adhered the wreath to a red foil background.  I added some tiny berries using Copic pens.  I finished the front with a sentiment panel adhered over the wreath and a tiny black mouse at the foot of the card.  On the inside I cut a panel of white card and stamped an open window through which you can see Santa flying by, and the mouse is looking out!

Before you head off to check out the inspiration cards from the rest of the Design Team, I should tell you that we are looking for few new crafters to join our Team.  If you're interested in joining our Team, then add "DT" after your name.  We will let you know if you've been selected by 30th December 2013 and you'll start on the team in February 2014.  So get crafting!  That's all for now - see you soon.
