I'd made a few cards before this one - but didn't start taking photos of my cards until 2006. I made this card for Jonathan's birthday - it's very basic (and the photo is awful) - sort of clean and simple! I started off with a sticker (Jonathan is a football fan) mounted onto white card and coloured with a Sakura Glaze pen. I then layered it onto several mats. I attached this to a plain turquoise card base, added another sticker and finished off with a simply birthday sentiment which was heat embossed - although not very well heat embossed!
As this card was made a long time before I started my blog - this is the first time it's been seen by anyone outside the family!! Be kind - I was still learning!! Actually it's quite nice to go back and look at cards I made a while ago and realise that I've learnt a lot!
That's all for now - it's just gone midnight and I'm off to bed. Wishing everyone a super Memorial weekend - it's a long weekend in the States!

Arrr peel offs...I have a ton of them stashed somewhere!! Little did we know how craft products would develop :0)
Love the colours and sentiment scarf :0) must remember to join in this time, I always forget because I don't need to make a card for it!!

I agree Deb, it's good to look back at some of our early cards. I've never tried peel offs but I used to use rub ons in place of sentiments...........Love your soccer card, I'd have to make mine red though with a Liverpool mad fan in the house:)
Well, I'm so glad that you joined us for the Flashback Friday fun! It is fun to look back, isn't it?! A wonderful masculine card for a football fan! Thanks so much for joining us at Flashback Friday!!!
Brilliant Deborah - so glad you joined the flashback party! Your early heat embossing is MUCH more successful than mine was! I actually burnt some vellum on my first attempt and then burnt my fingers! I too have about 6 folders of peel offs - they were the bees knees back then weren't they!

I love this Deb and the fun and hip tie-die background. I find you a brave person to show off something from "back in the day". My "starting out" projects are horrendous...LOL Bully for you on setting pride aside to show how far you have come!
Uh, yeah, I destroyed the evidence of my first cards. LOL I bet the recipient loved this card and I would be proud if this card were one of my early attempts!
You really don't want to know just how many peel offs I've got - it's rather more than 6 folders ;) I do like them though!
A fab card Deborah, love the footballer. My early efforts were rubbish, nothing as good as this.

Isn't it fun to go back in time and look at what we created? I LOVE this--it shows where you came from! :)
I love looking back at everyone's old cards and seeing how we've all grown. Such fun!
Wow, Deb! This is so retro! LOVE it - and how far you've come!
It is fun to see what we were making way back! I love the football scarf sentiment on your card. Vicky x
So fun to look back and see how your talents have grown, isn't it? It's one of my favorite things about the FF challenges. Your card is wonderful and I'm sure it was very much appreciated!
It is fun to go back and realize how far we've come! There are some great elements in this card that would still work - sometimes it's fun to case ourselves and see what we can come up with....!
Great card! I too made cards like this before I started blogging. We've come a long way now. Haven't we? Thanks for playing with us at Flashback Friday!
This was a fun challange and your card is great.
