We're home ...

... we got in late Monday morning and were absolutely shattered.  Our flight from Detroit was great - we got off on time and landed in Amsterdam an hour early.  The only problem with that was that it was 5.00am and nothing was open, so Kathryn and I had to sit and wait - boring!!!!  And not too warm either.  Our journey to Manchester was totally uneventful and we arrived on time, collected our bags and met our taxi for the journey home.  And that was the only hold up - we were delayed about 30 minutes in a traffic jam.  We had a very lazy day yesterday and both of us headed to bed quite early.

And today has been cold, dull and grey.  Kathryn went back to school with lots to tell her friends.  I think she's quite excited by the possibility of the move to Michigan, but she's a bit nervous too.  As for me, I unpacked the cases and got some washing done.  I sat down with a cup of coffee and fell asleep - that'll be the jet lag then!!!  And strange as it sounds, I'm wide awake now!!  I think my body clock is still on Michigan time and it's about 6.30pm there now!  I'll get back to normal soon - I hope.

As you may have noticed - I've been playing around with my blog - I fancied a change ;)))  That's all for now, I really better get to bed and try to get back on UK time.  See you tomorrow.

Hi Deborah, welcome home, sounds like you had the holiday of a lifetime.
Do make the effort to go to Barnsdale, it is well worth the trip. Go in the late Spring or early summer if you can for all the wonderful colours. Just a little way up the road from the gardens, there is a wonderful little bakery which is also well worth a visit :o)

Deborah, SO glad you are home safe and sound. Like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz .. There's no place like home, there's no place like home, and then BAM - there you are!! Was it all a dream?? Seems like it when you're back to your old routine :) Hope you had a great time!
