Oven fresh ...

... this card is for two challenges.  The first is from Stamptacular Sunday - where they would like us to make a project that features food.  Over at Little Red Wagon the challenge this week is to use some misting on your project.

On one of my recent trips to my local craft shop I picked up some Cosmic Shimmer sprays - I had a voucher from a previous shop so these were basically free!!  For the base card I used a pearly champagne card from my stash and decided to bling it up by using the sprays.  I added three colours - Ancient Copper, Golden Mint and Meadow Lush - drying each before applying the next colour.  Then, using my favourite rodent stamps, I stamped the pie and pear onto plain white card.  I coloured both images with Promarkers and then over sprayed with more Cosmic Shimmer spray this tie in Gold.  I cut out the pie and pear, stuck the pie to the centre of the card and then stamped the frame and greeting.  Finally I added the pear to the corner.  Such a yummy looking card!!  It has such a lovely shimmer.

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Peace and Plenty, Oven Fresh Gingerbread Joy
Inks:  Memento - Tuxedo Black; Versafine - Onyx Black
Cosmic Shimmer Sprays:  Ancient Copper, Golden Mint, Meadow Lush, Gold
Promarkers: Forest Green, Pear Green, Lime Green, Chestnut, Cinnamon, Oatmeal, Apricot, Ruby

I've a lot on today - planning for Scouts this evening.  I always seem to save it up to do just before the meeting!!  Tonight we're looking at - SPACE.  We've been given a telescope for the Group - it's not been used before, so I don't know what it'll be like, but we'll have a play.  I'm also going to take my binoculars along - it's a full moon, so we should get some great views of the moon's surface - cloud permitting!!

Hopefully, I'll be able to post again later this evening.  Have a good day.

Fun with flowers ....

.... that's exactly what I've been having in my craft room this morning.  I've been making and colouring flowers for the two cards that I made this morning.

The first card is for three challenges:  Just Add Ink - JAI52 (sketch); Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - SSC95 where we have to use 3 papers, flowers, ribbons, etc; and Crafty Cardmakers - CC38 where we have to use flowers.
JAI52 - Sketch
Edited:  Darn - I've just uploaded the page and discovered that the Just Add Ink has closed - shame, but never mind.  The link was open when I checked this morning!!  I wasn't quick enough.
I've used a lovely set of 6" x 6" papers from My Mind's Eye called Quite Contrary; I got this pack free with Cardmaking & Papercraft last year.  It has the most lovely colours.  I selected three sheets, used the green to cover the card base and then used my Spellbinders dies to cut out two layers.  I put some lovely green satin ribbon around the smallest layer.  To cut the flowers I used my Woodware flower punches.  I then made the flowers by layering up from biggest to smallest flower.  I added some lovely pink gems to the centre of each flower and finally, I added a greeting.  This card is going to my Mum - just because!!

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Spring Baskets
Papers:  My Mind's Eye - Quite Contrary
Spellbinders:  Labels 8 (S5-019) - dies #6 and #4
Woodware:  Flower punches
Accessories:  Ribbon and gems from my stash

The second card I made is also for three challenges:  Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge - WMSC31 (sketch); Little Red Wagon - LRW65 to add some lace to your card, and finally for Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple Challenge where we were to use flourishes.

This card also features flowers - I think I'm trying to get in the mood for Spring!  My starting point on this card was the backing paper - it has some sweet cherry blossom like flowers and pretty flourishes on it.  I cut this to the shape in the sketch and attached it to the card.  I added a length of lace which I'd tinted blue with my inks.  I stamped the big flower and coloured it using Promarkers.  I added some faux stitching to the curve in the paper.  The greeting is made up of two stamps - sadly I can't remember the name of the company who made these stamps.  The glitter flourishes (which hardly show in the photo, but which are gorgeous in real-life) were drawn by hand.  Actually the whole card has a beautiful sparkle!!

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Big Blooms - Chrysanthemums
Paper:  Papermania - Creative Tones - Venetian Skies
Promarkers:  Midnight Blue, Denim Blue, Pastel Blue
Inks:  Memento - London Fog, Summer Sky, Paris Dusk
Accessories:  Glitter, lace and gem from stash

I noticed just now that I've two new followers - so I'd like to say Hi and Welcome to Natalie and Queenie Jeannie.  Kathryn starts at a new drama/singing/dance club tonight - she's so excited, but it's a late finish, so I'm not sure whether I'm going to be able to play in my craft room again later.  So this is likely to be all for today.  Do drop by again tomorrow.

Cute and green ...

... and some brads - this is the recipe for this week's challenge over at Cooking It Up With Katie.  I'm also entering this card into the challenge over at Little Red Wagon - they want a one layer wonder!

Stamps:  Pink Petticoat - Dog in the Chair;  Waltzingmouse Stamps - Frame-It
Inks:  Memento - Cottage Ivy, Lady Bug
Promarkers:  Meadow Green, Apple, Emerald, Apricot, Ginger, Lipstick Red, Cool Grey 1
Accessories:  Green gems

I only realised when I'd scanned the card that I slipped slightly with the greeting - darn!!  I don't have time at the moment to fix this, so I'll sort it out tomorrow.  I sort of cheated a bit with the green brads bit - I don't like the tails on the inside of the card, so I used some tiny gems instead.  This is a cute little card - it's only 3" x 3" - perfect when you need a little pick-me-up!!

I've been very busy in my craft room today working on a project - but you'll have to check back next week to see that one :))  See you tomorrow.

Sparkly baubles ...

... are what I came up with for two challenges this week.  Cooking It Up with Katie - the recipe for this week is to show us Christmas, use some layers and have a bit of red.  The Little Red Wagon challenge was to use a die cut.  So I've combined both these challenges in one card.

I have a wonderful bauble punch from Stampin' Up!  - it's a lovely shape and fits their stamps perfectly.  I stamped three baubles in bright red; first I inked up the image with Versamark and then put the Distress ink on top of that.  Once I'd stamped the image I applied Kaleidoscope embossing powder and set this with my heat gut.  Result - three beautifully sparkling baubles.  This tip comes from Lisa - via the 12 Days of Christmas from Waltzingmouse.  I then used my punch to cut out the baubles.  Katie asked for layers - well I have two; the base card and the baubles!!  For the branch of the tree I used the wonderful Baroque stamp - makes a fab branch!!  Finally, I added a greeting and some strings and bows to hang the baubles.  Here it is -

Stamps:  Stampin' Up! - Baroque, Delightful Decorations; Greeting - free from magazine
Inks:  Versamark;  Distress - Barn Door
Accessories:  Stampin' Up! - Bauble Punch; Stampendous - Kaleidoscope Embossing Powder

I'm all set up for Cubs and Scouts this evening - I think it's going to be fun.  I hope to take some photos of their cards to show you tomorrow.  See you then.

Challenges galore ...

... I've been busy making cards for various challenges, and I've made a card to fulfil the requirements for three challenges!!  They are:
I think this is the first time I've actually managed to combine challenges in one card - I'm usually too busy trying to work out how to meet the requirements of one challenge, never mind three!!

But this time it all came together rather well.  I started with the JAI42 sketch - I liked this layout and felt that the flower could be changed a bit to a Christmas bauble.  And that led to the next requirement - punches.  I used my Christmas Bauble stamps and punch from Stampin' Up!, along with a lovely punched Bauble border from a Martha Stewart Punch.  So that was two out of three!  And the last requirement was to include red - in honour of a year at Little Red Wagon - that was easy - red backing paper, red tinsel embossing powder and red ink!!

Overall feeling when I'd finished this card - really pleased.  And, more importantly, another card towards this year's collection.  So, here's the finished card:

JAI42;  Little Red Wagon #53; Creative Card Crew - Punches

Stamps:  Stampin' Up! - Delightful Decorations, Contempo Christmas
Card:  Anita's Classic Christmas Red Papers; Gold card from stash; Green textured foil card from stash
Accessories:  Papermania - Green ribbon;  Martha Stewart - Baubles border punch;  Stampin' Up! - Ornament punch

I hope that everyone in the UK has enjoyed the Bonfire Weekend.  In the end, we didn't go to the Firework Display yesterday; we'd been out all day and were totally shattered.  So we stayed in the warm and watched our neighbour's display from the warmth and comfort of our living room.  And that seems to me to be the way to enjoy the fireworks.

That's all for now.  I have quite a bit of housework to catch up on, but provided I get finished, I'll be back later this evening.  I plan to go shopping over at Claire's shop - it's worth a visit!!
