CR84FN51 - Happy Birthday ....

.... Wow, April already - the year is simply flying by.  April 1st is commonly known as April Fools' Day - a time for pranks, jokes and fun!  In the UK it's the tradition that pranks can only be played until Noon, but here in the States they can be played all day!!!  No time for pranks in our house today - we're moving into our new home - Yippee!!!

Today is also time for our new challenge at CR84FN, and we are welcoming two new members to the Design Team.  Both ladies have been Guest Designers before - so join me in welcoming Pauline Pollington (Craft Obsessions) and Shannon White (Enchanted Ladybug Creations).

After the bright, vibrant colours of our last challenge, we have a softer, more pastel palette for you to play with - pink, peach and light blue - lovely!  Let your imagination run riot with CR84FN51 - the inspiration photos on the graphic are just wonderful and are courtesy of Magnolia Rouge - I have spent a while browsing the site - it's fab!

I really like the soft shades of blue and subtle pattern on the wedding cake, so I made blue the main colour on my birthday card.  I used some Stampin' Up! Bashful Blue card to make the card base, rounding the corners for a softer finish.  I cut white card for a mat and stamped, in palest pink, the pretty daisy trellis from Pic-Nic Patterns.  The wings were stamped in Bashful Blue onto blue card, heat embossed with clear powder and cut out.  I stamped the dress on coordinating patterned SU designer paper, cut it out and attached to the card over the wings.   The birthday greeting was also embossed.  Finally, I added a touch of peach in the little corsage on the dress. This card is for Ben's Aunty Karen who lives in San Deigo - it was posted before we left the UK, so Karen will have received it in plenty of time!!!

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - You're Lovely, Say It With Style, Pic-Nic Patterns; Can't remember which company made the wings (but they're fab)
Inks:  Stampin' Up! - Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette, Peach Parfait; Versafine - Onyx Black
Accessories:  Embossing powder, card and gem from stash.

It's going to be a very busy day for us - so that's all for now.  See you soon.
