St Luke's Challenge - Bling it on!! ....

.... It's our anniversary this month - we're are a year old today.  To celebrate St Luke's Charity Card Challenge 1st anniversary we would like you to make cards with some bling - or lots of bling!!

Bling it on!!

We'd like you to "bring out your inner magpie and add some sparkle to your creation with gems, glitter, beads or anything shiny".

I've gone for a reasonably clean and simple design with only a touch of colour.  I used Kanban holographic card to make the base layer - opting for a clean, graphic design of diamonds - get it!!  Diamonds!!!!  I wrapped some white chiffon ribbon around the layer and attached it to the card base.  The lacy oval was cut out with my Spellbinder dies, I stamped the rose image directly on the oval panel and gently coloured the lace edge.  I finished off the oval by adding lots of bling!  This was easier than it looked as it came ready made - super bling from Want 2 Scrap Nestabling.  I added a simple birthday sentiment, which was heat embossed with clear powder and a holographic butterfly to finish off.

Stamps:  Kanban - All Occasions; Waltzingmouse - Say It with Style
Inks:  Versafine - Onyx Black; Stampin' Up! - Pool Party
Spellbinders: Lacey Ovals (S4-314) #5
Accessories:  Want 2 Scrap - Nestabling; Kanban Holographic card and butterfly, Ribbon and card from stash

I made this card ages ago - just before I left the UK.  I sent it to my sister's friend, Catherine, for her birthday which she celebrated on 9th March.  Here's a close up shot of the lacy oval and the butterfly.  You can really see the gems and the sparkle on the holographic butterfly.  I picked Tara's favourite colour of teal for the roses!

Don't forget to visit my fellow design teammates for more inspirational designs:

As it's our anniversary this month, we have a bumper prize for the April winner which includes the following items:

A rainbow pack of felt sheets
A ribbon girl kit (yellow)
2 packs of antique gold effect embossed stickers
2 packs of assorted flowers
2 sheets of unmounted fairy and flower rubber stamps
a set of Papermania Christmas cling stamps
a Ladybug Crafts Ink Magnum cling stamp
4 packs of seed beads
a bunch of gold pearl sprays
a bunch of iridescent flower sprays
a bunch of gold leaf sprays
and a perfect Bow Maker MkII

And don't forget, if you'd like to send your card to St Luke's to help with fund raising, details can be found on our blog here.

That's all for now - please join me later for the new CR84FN colour challenge!  See you there.
