CR84FN51 - Easter ....

....  Hello, sorry I've not been around much this week (see more of that below), I'd like to wish you all a very Happy Easter.  It's the second week of our CR84FN51 colours of pink, peach and light blue which I've used to make an Easter Card for my Mum.

I made a clean, simple design which features some pretty Easter Eggs.  I stamped the largest egg directly on the card base, and the smaller ones were die cut with Spellbinders Easter egg dies  The pink egg was stamped in Versamark and embossed with clear powder and then I added a deeper pink over the top to emphasise the pretty pattern.  I love the patterns on the peach egg and the tiny blue egg is just like a real one!!  I finished off the card with a fun sentiment and pink butterfly!

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Nestie Eggs, Spring Baskets, L'il Buddies
Inks:  Stampin' Up! - Peach Parfait, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink
Spellbinders:  Easter Eggs (S4-264) # 2, 3 and 4
Accessories:  SU - Pink Pirouette card; Clear embossing powder and card from stash

As you know, we moved into our new house last Sunday - it was such a busy time.  Fortunately, we were able to move all our suitcases and other bits and pieces in one, very full, car load.  The house we're renting is part furnished - we have some beds, seating, table and chairs.  But, we had to go shopping (always fun for me) and get some bedding, cutlery, crockery, TVs, food and a few other bits to keep us going until our sea-container arrives (more of that later).  In the evening we had a small housewarming and were joined by some friends for a pizza and coke!

On Monday we got cable installed for TV and Internet.  Our Internet connection has been great - not quite as fast as in the UK, but soooo much better than the hotel.  Unfortunately, we weren't so lucky with the TV - it just didn't work.  And, as we have so little else in the house, TV is our main source entertainment.  Fortunately, the company came out to repair the box on Wednesday and all has been well since then.

Kathryn was registered for school on Monday, but it took a few days to sort out the paperwork, so she didn't actually start until Wednesday.  So Kathryn only did two days at school before stopping for Spring Recess!!!  She has already made several friends and everyone has been so welcoming.

Our container arrived earlier than expected, unfortunately that doesn't mean we're going to get it any earlier than planned.  Customs decided they wanted to have a close look at our container - so we are now expecting our goods towards the end of April.  So, I'm going to have to make do with my "emergency stash" for a few more weeks.  Sob! Sob!

In the UK Good Friday is a bank holiday, but not here!  So Jonathan had to work.  Kathryn and I went out to the "Marshmallow Drop" in Nankin Mills Park.  We found out that this is something that happens every year and is a really fun event for the children.  See the video clip here (this was recorded in 2010).  I have photos but haven't uploaded them yet.

My only issue at present is that I don't have a car and consequently I am pretty much house bound - no public  transport here!!  We hope to sort this out in a few weeks.  Anyway, that's all for now, I intend to do a bit of crafting during the coming week - so hopefully I'll see you soon.

Great Easter card Devorah, I love those wonderful Eggs.
How frustrating for you that you can't get your stuff yet! At least you had the foresight to pack a little emergency stash to play with! I would be off to Michaels like a shot to buy some more goodies lol!
Have a great Easter in your new home! Xx

Happy Easter ! Yes, not much closes here in the U.S on Good Friday with the exception of personal businesses. Oh my, so sorry you have to wait so long to be able to move in , that would be very hard for me.
Your Easter card is so pretty with the WMS you used, just love it! Hope things get worked out soon Deborah

I'm sure you're delighted to have moved in and although the non-working TV must have been annoying, it seems to have been a smooth operation. It was probably nice for Kathryn to have had that two days to start making friends so she can really look forward to going back after recess. Sorry to hear you'll be without your stash for a while longer but it just gives you more opportunity to amaze everyone with the gorgeous cards you make on limited supplies! Vicky x

Great card Deborah - not be long until you get all your stash back....

So glad Kathryn has made friends already and you are all settling down to US life nicely (I'm quite jealous that you'll be ahead of me on all my fave US shows now too - no spoilers please!)
