Lost in space ....

.... This week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays - CFC38 is to make a card based on a movie - keeping it family friendly!  And, as it's the first challenge of the month, the winner will get to be a temp Girl Friday as Guest Designer!   That's a great incentive!

One of my favourite TV series when I was a child was Lost in Space with the Robinson family, Don West, Dr Smith and the Robot all trying to survive various adventures.  In the 1998 a movie was made based on the series, and while it wasn't anywhere near as popular as the TV show, I enjoyed it!!

That was the inspiration for my card - I stamped a star filled sky, embossed a simple sentiment and attached a rocket "lost in space"!  The stars were embossed with a variety of powders - silver, gold and white tinsel, and I coloured the space rocket with Promarkers.

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Half Pint Heroes, Christmas Cottage
Inks:  Memento - Tuxedo Black; Versamark
Accessories:  Stampin' Up! - Night of Navy card; Embossing powders and Promarkers

We had a visit from a removal company yesterday - following the decluttering I was hoping to find that we'd reduced the volume of our goods - we have, but not by very much!!  Following Kathryn's tidy up in her bedroom, she is donating a number of books, some old puzzles (all complete), a doll and pushchair and some dressing up clothes to the school.  She's been really good about reducing her toy stash!

It's another busy day here - Jonathan's been taking photos for our Visa applications, we form filling and getting the house tidied for a photo shoot on Friday!  That's all for now!

Brilliant movie theme Deborah - I loved that film (and the TV series actually). The embossed background shows off the rocket brilliantly!

Fab card Deborah, with that cute rocket, and sky full of wonderful stars.

I vaguely remember that series. It's ever such fun seeing what you do with these little heroes; I think that's the beauty of having a whole range of stamps from the same manufacturer that you really gel with for they become part of your thinking somehow. I'm getting that way with the Chocolate Baroque.
Hope all this form filling etc..... goes smoothly. Not easy decluttering.

I don't remember the series at all but I really like your card - perfect for a budding astronaut!

What a sweet card - I love the embossed night sky. I loved Will Robinson and the cowardly Dr. Smith too! Great show and a perfect card to match!

Fabulous starry sky Deborah, the embossing is so effective for that metallic look :0)
The tv series rings a bell but I don't think I watched it!

So, so cute! I used to watch the TV show when I was a kid, but didn't realize that they did a movie. I'll have to look that one up! Thanks so much for playing with us at CAS-ual Fridays!! We're so glad you did!
