... is so precious to me. So I've made a mini scrapbook page all about my special girl. I don't think Kathryn realises just how much I love her - despite the pouts, the grumps, and stuff!! It's all washed away when she comes up hugs me and tells me she loves me. Kathryn is 10½ years old, but I think we've already hit the teen attitude!! I based the page on this week's sketch at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge - WMSC103. Edna Morrisedie designed this sketch - it's a hard one, but I think I can play with it again soon.
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Off Beat Backgrounds, French Country, Half Pint Heroines
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Rose Bud, Bahama Blue
Spellbinders: Lattice Rectangles (S4-319) #4, Rectangles Sm (S4-130) #4
Accessories: Photo from my PC, Card from stash
Yesterday we went to see Brave, the new Pixar movie, it was really good. The heart of the story is the relationship between the Princess Merida and her mother Queen Elinor - it made both of us cry and hug!! And I sort of made this minipage because my girl is brave, smart, beautiful and amazing - and I had all the stamps to say so!!
Here's this week sketch:
That's all for now. We're off to the pool now to cool down - it's really, really hot here now 35C (95F). Wish I could send some of the sun and heat to the UK. See you soon.
Ohhh...I think this is a perfect use of the sketch! Your daughter ia adorable!!! Watch out....that teen attitude lasts for a while but, remember one day they will look at you....realize it and apologize!!!
This sketch was exactly perfect for your layout! My Kathryn (Kate) is 9, and still lovely and sweet (most of the time!), my 13 year old son, on the other hand..... lol! I'm sure my mom is laughing and thinking I got exactly what I deserve!
And what a great use of the sketch!!
And the teen 'tude...
Been dealing with that for a while myself...
but we're 14 almost 15 now...
surely it can't last MUCH longer!!
Best of luck Deborah!! :)
What a lovely pose and what a great page Deborah! I always think it's good for teenagers to have 'attitude'. You don't want them to be push-overs in their adult lives and they have to practise on someone; of course it has to be you - you're nearest and safest! Vicky x
Love it, so gorgeous!! I'm sure your girl will appreciate the gift! Thank you for joining us for a Waltzingmouse sketch this week :)
Love your take on the sketch Deb! Your daughter is so beautiful! Thanks for playing with the WMS sketch this week! :)
A lovely and very sweet scrap page for your girl Deb, I love the pink and blue plaid pattern!
It's cold and windy here, yesterday was cloudy and humid, and today it was freezing, blowing a gale and drizzling with rain - of course it was school Sports Day, needless to say we were all frozen through. But we just grinned and beared it!
I'm still warming up lol!
What a lovely page for your daughter - wonderful colors and sentiments Deborah!
Aaaw! She's a sweet little lady. Great take on the sketch, Deborah.
What a great layout of your daughter! I love that colorful shirt she is wearing too! And those stamps....aren't those the best little sentiments? I used them for my card too and gave the card to my daughter. She said, 'yes, mom. I am amazing!' the perfect way to capture what our little girls mean to us. Thanks for sharing yours with us!
I loved your post and hearing about Kathryn! Great choice of stamps for your beautiful layout - our girls are so precious - what a beautiful way to let her know! Your a good mom!!
LOVE the sentiments and LOVE that photo! I think I used to have a blouse just like that!!!
