C24C - Theme - Reindeer ...

... Good morning! We've had some lovely bright sunny days here in North Wales, but even though it's been bright, we've still had cold, frosty mornings. I spent yesterday afternoon working in my craft room on my card for our new challenge at Christmas 24 Challenge - C24C#32 where we have a theme of Reindeer. I've made a simple and elegant card:

Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps - Yonder Star Background, Rustic Christmas, Ornate Ornaments
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black; Kaleidacolor - Fruitcake; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
Dies: Spellbinders - Deckled Mega Rectangles Lg (S5-015) #4; Kaisercraft - Deer Head
Accessories: White Card; Gold Linen Effect Mirri Card; Clear Embossing Powder; Green Card

I'm submitting this to Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge - HLSXMAS#04 where it's Anything Goes (I'm not doing the option). I'm also playing along with The Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge - H&ICC#92 where it's Anything Christmas goes.

I've used one of my all time favourite background stamps on this card - Yonder Star by Waltzingmouse Stamps (sadly Claire shut up shop a while ago). I inked it with a Kaleidacolor pad - these colours are just perfect for Christmas - and stamped it on the front of an A2 card. On some white card I stamped the lovely stag's head with sentiment in Versafine ink and heat embossed it with clear powder. I then carefully fussy cut it out. I used a fancy edge die to cut the gold panel and adhered it to the centre of the card. I used dimensional pads to adhered the stag's head. On the inside, I cut a piece of white card onto which I stamped a simple Christmas greeting and added a green die cut stag's head.

C24C - Christmas Ornament ....

.... Morning! It's time for our new challenge at Christmas 24 Challenge - C24C#18. We have a sketch for you to use. You can turn it (as I did) but we must be able to see the sketch in your card. Here's mine:

Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps - Ornate Ornaments, Alpine Christmas
Inks: Versamark; Delicata - Golden Glitz; Versafine Clair - Summertime; Memento - Tuxedo Black
Dies: Spellbinders - 2010 Heirloom Ornaments (S4-283) #5
Accessories: White Card; Kasiercraft DP - A Touch of Gold, Chase Rainbows; Gold Embossing Powder; Black Ribbon; Copic Markers

I'm submitting this card to 52 Christmas Card Throwdown - 52CCT34-20 - where they have a fun colour combination - Black, Orange and Gold (white is allowed). Also playing along with The Holly & Ivy Christmas  Challenge - H&ICC#79 where it's Anything Goes.

I started by stamping the large ornament on white card. I removed the card from the MISTI and coloured the area under the pattern with an orange marker. I repositioned the card, stamped with Versamark and then heat embossed with gold powder. Before cutting out the image with the matching die, I stamped the sentiment and little snowflake. I cut a panel of black and gold design paper to cover the front of the card and added a strip of orange patterned paper down the centre. I then added the ornament and finished the front with a little black bow. On the inside, I cut a mat layer of orange design paper and on the white panel added a Christmas greeting and some tiny snowflakes.

This card uses some of my older, much loved stamp sets from Waltzingmouse Stamps - Claire your designs are as fresh now as they were then!

Don't forget to visit our blog to see more inspiration cards from the rest of the design team. I hope you have fun playing with the sketch and I look forward to visiting and leaving a comment. Bye for now - have fun!

Non-traditional Christmas ....

....  Hi!  Good morning!  I'm feel quite pleased with myself - I got all the ironing done yesterday - sadly I also started a new pile!!!  Never mind, I was able to play in my craft room too.  I've a VERY non-traditional Christmas card to share with you this morning:

Open on the 25th - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Rick St Dennis Digi - Do Not Open Til Creepmas; Waltzingmouse - Ornate Ornaments; Stampin' Up! - Endless Wishes
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black; SU - Wisteria Wonder, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Basic Black; Kaisercraft DP - Kaleidoscope; Copic Markers; SU Marker - Black

Lori, over at Merry Monday - MM#131 is a traditional gal, but she's picked non-traditional colours as the theme for this week's challenge.  I hope she likes this card, not only is it non-traditional colours, but it's a VERY non-traditional style.  I've gone for a fun, silly and slightly darker card!!  I covered the card base with some design paper - a very grungy look, a bit like the corner of a room.  I printed the stack of presents on white card, coloured them with Copic markers and then cut them out.  I edged the image with black marker and then adhered it directly to the card base.  I stamped the words randomly around the parcels - I like the one that says "Open me first" - right by the big purple box with very sharp teeth :))  On the inside I cut a mat layer in black card and then stamped a Christmas sentiment in funky colours and added a few snowflakes!!

I had lots of fun with this card!  The image is fab and I think I know a teenage boy who will really appreciate this one!  That's all for now.  See you soon.
