C24C - Christmas Stag ....

.... Good morning! It's the first day of September, and I'm not sure how we got here so quickly. It does mean that it's time for our new challenge at Christmas 24 - C24C#17. If you've not started on your Christmas cards yet, then it's probably time and hopefully our theme of Christmas Animals will help get you going. I made a clean and elegant card:

Stamps: Stamplorations - Yuletide Deer; Stampin' Up! - Merry Medley
Inks: Delicata - Golden Glitz; Versafine Clair - Pinecone
Dies: Nesting set from my stash (don't know the company)
Accessories: Hero Arts A2 Top Folding White Card; Gold Satin Mirri Card; Copic Markers; Clear Embossing Powder

I'm submitting this card to a few challenges. I'm joining in with Time Out Challenges - TOC#169 where the theme is Season - any type of season, and I've picked Christmas. Also with Fab Friday - FabF#196 where they have some lovely warms colours which are very suggestive of autumn, but I've used them for my beautiful stag.

The card is simplicity itself. I simply stamped the large background image in gold onto the card base - I used my MISTI so I was able to stamp the image a few times to ensure a nice depth of gold colour. I stamped the stag on white card and coloured with Copic markers - nothing fancy, just simple colouring in the banded lines. I put the coloured image back into the MISTI, stamped in brown pigment ink and embossed with clear powder. I used a rectangle die to cut out the image and a scalloped edge die for the gold mat layer. And that's it, very clean, simple and elegant, and surprisingly easy to mass produce. I think I'm going to make a few more cards based on this design but in different colours.

On the inside, I kept things very simple. I added a sweet sentiment and stamped the stag head in the corner of the card.

We have some new members joining the team today, so please don't forget to visit our blog to see more inspiration from the rest of the team and leave some comments - we all like to read them. Have fun with this challenge and I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs. See you all soon.

Season's Greetings ....

... Morning! I had a good day yesterday and made another Christmas card for my stash - I will NOT be purchasing boxed cards again this year 😁.  Here it is:

Stamps: Concord &9th - Snowflakes Turnabout, Christmas Cottage, Petals & Pallets; Stamplorations - Yuletide Deer
Inks: Gina K - Black Onyx, Soft Stone, Kraft; Versafine - Onyx Black
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Real Red; Copic Markers; Clear Embossing Powder

I'm submitting this card to several challenges - 52 Christmas Card Throwdown - 52CCT05-20, where I used their sketch, The Card Concept - CC#127, where they have a lovely inspiration photo, Jingle Belles - JB:20:03, where they wanted to see three of something, and finally to Colour Throwdown - CTD#578, such lovely colours.

I started by stamping the lovely stag head three times on white card, coloured them all with Copic markers, put them back into the MISTI, restamped with Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear poweder. I then carefully fussy cut them out.  I stamped the two log planks using a mixture of kraft and grey ink to give a softly weathered look.  I added some snowflakes to the background, and then stamped the greeting.  I finished the front by adhering the two side stag heads flat to the card, and the centrally one with dimensional pads.  On the inside I cut a mat layer of bright red card and on the white panel added a bold greeting and another gorgeous stag head.

That's all for now.  I've got a reasonably busy day ahead - part of which includes attending my local craft group.  See you soon.

For Jonathan ....

... Hi! I'm sharing the card I made for Jonathan today. It's a really clean, simple and fun card:

Is You - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Stamplorations - Yuletide Deer
Inks: Versamark; Gina K - Black Onyx; Delicata - Silver Shimmer
Dies: Memory Box - Cross Stitched Frame Borders #4
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Washi Tape; SU Card - Emerald Envy; Silver Embossing Powder; Copics; Nuvo Shimmer Brush

I really like this stamp set - the different deer images are just lovely. I think the faceted effect on this one goes really well with the chevron design on the washi tape, and in fact, I used the colours on the tape to colour the image. I die cut the panel with a stitch edge die and added a touch of shading around the coloured image. I also added some sparkle to the stag head. I adhered the washi tape to the card and used dimensional pads to attach the die cut panel. I finished the front with a simple greeting for Jonathan. On the inside, I cut a mat layer of green card and stamped another Christmas message and a silver stag head on the white panel.
