52CCT - Sketch ...

.... Hello!  It's time for our new sketch at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and as it's the first Saturday of the month we kick off with our sketch challenge.  Fabiola is our host this month and she has a super sketch for us to play with.  You are allowed to flip it, change the shape of the panel and add as few or as many embellishments are you like.  Here's my take:

Accessories: White Lustre Card; Mirri Card - Gold, Red, Green; Martha Stewart Punch - Ornaments; SU Card - Real Red; Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder

I decided that instead of scallops I'd use my Christmas Ornament border punch to create the layers.  I kept the little gold ornaments and inlaid them in the red border.  I cut a panel white panel onto which I adhered a gold tinsel ornament.  I finished the front with a silver snowflake charm.  On the inside I cut a mat layer of red card, a white panel with a faux stitched border and added a simple, elegant greeting.

We have a long weekend here in the States - it's Labour Day on Monday.  And, as we are having a last burst of summer, we'll be off visiting friends and heading out to the beach!  Still feels strange saying "beach" in the middle of land-locked Michigan!  Have a great weekend.

Hello everyone!  It's February!!  Oh my goodness, I can't quite believe how quickly we got through January, but if you've been playing along with us each week you already have four Christmas cards in your stash ready for the end of the year.  Jacqueline is our host this month at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown, and our first challenge each month is a sketch and here's my take:

The theme at this week's Merry Monday - MM#93 is Christmas Ornaments, and as I love them on cards just as much as on trees, I decided to go with them for my card.  I made my own washi tape by stamping onto vellum and embossing with both gold and silver; I kept the gold and silver theme for the ornament which I cut out with the matching die.  I made the gold and silver mat layer from four bits of scrap.  I added gold and silver enamel dots, a big silver bow and finished with a simple sentiment.  Inside I cut a mat layer in black and on the white panel stamped a lovely sentiment and some snowflakes!
