TMR - Technique ....

.... Hi! I'm almost back to my regular posts! I've still got a bit of sorting out to do in my craft room, but I can at least get to all my inks, paper and stamps. I'm here this morning with my card for the new challenge at The Male Room - TMR#33. For the next couple of weeks we want to see your masculine style paper craft projects using the

TRIPLE STAMPING 

technique. I've put a video at the end of this post if you're not quite sure what how to do it. I've made a clean, crisp card for a teenager or young man:

Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black; Kaleidacolour - Denim
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Stampin' Up! Card - Basic Black

I've used the word prompt "ROCK" from the current Inkspirational Challenge - INK#106 as my inspiration. I used my all time favourite stamp set - Free Spirit Boy - which has wonderful tribal style graffiti images along with lots of other little stamps. I cut two white panels and lightly adhered them together while I stamped the images. I like the effect you get with the Kaleidacolour pads. I layered the stamped panels on black card and then adhered them all to the front of the card. On the inside I cut a mat layer of black card and on the white panel I stamped a sentiment and more graffiti images.

That's all for today - I'm off to do some more unpacking. When we moved over to the States (four years ago) I didn't unpack every single box that came over, but this time I'm opening every box. I've found toys and books that the children have out grown, and even some of their old clothes. I've also found lots of UK electrical equipment that is now in storage in the basement. Going through my craft room stash I also found a few duplicates!! What am I going to do with them? Check back soon and find out. See you soon.

TMR - Stash ....

... Hi!!  Can you believe it's almost the end of the month?  Time is flying by.  It's time for our new challenge at The Male Room and this time we have a Stash challenge.  I decided that it would be a good idea for us to make use of some of our stash and decided to use HARDWARE on our masculine projects.  I actually ended up making two cards:

Inks: Stampin' Up! - Night of Navy, Marina Mist
Dies: Lil Inkers - Dual Stitched Squares #2
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Night of Navy; We Are Memory Keepers - Eyelets

I made the base from navy card.  I cut a panel of white card slightly smaller and then cut off a corner to create a diagonal edge.  I lightly pencilled a line ½" from the edge and then used my (much neglected) Big Bite to punch the holes and add the eyelets.  I used dimensional tape to attach the panel to the front of the card.  I finished the front with a sentiment panel.  I die cut the square, added a sentiment and image and edged it with a marker to define the panel.  On the inside I cut a panel of white card and added some stars.  There's a large space left for my message.

As I had the Big Bite out (can't remember the last time I used it), I decided to make another card:

This time I made the base from green card.  I die cut the sentiment at the bottom of the white panel and drew on six lines, using my Big Bite to punch the holes and set the eyelets.  I've gone for a sort of ombre look with the eyelet colours.  On the inside I cut a panel of white card and added a bold word to carry on the greeting.

I'm so pleased that I've used some of my large vast collection of eyelets.  And it was nice to get the Big Bite out to play too!  Now that I've got it out, I think I'll play some more!

I have to tell you that neither of these designs are my idea.  I have CASEd them from two super CAS cards by the fabulous Pia Larson.  I changed up the cards to make them more masculine - switching the rainbow eyelets for blue on one card, and black through green on the other.  And instead of a curve I've gone for a diagonal.  The big change is that I've used coloured card for the base.  Here's a look at Pia's cards and the links - rainbow rain and rainbow curve:

... Hello again!  I'm on a bit of a roll today!  House stuff done, time in craft room this morning and another quick card to share with you.

I've made a birthday card for my stash - I've just realised that I don't have very many actual birthday cards.  This is definitely more masculine in feel.  I stamped the chevron pattern in all three colours and then cut out a square.  I also cut a vellum square which I adhered directly on top of the stamped square - makes the pattern a little more subtle.  I inked up a bold, graphic sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed with silver powder.  I finished the front with a stamp on the circle - it's a games controller!  The inside has a mat of green design paper and a fun sentiment on the white panel, along with a birthday cake!
