Easter Bling

... Good morning! Today's Easter card has a bit of bling. This one is for my aunt and uncle, safe to share it now as my family don't read my blog! Here's the card:

Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps - Nestie Eggs, Spring Baskets
Inks: Gina K - Blue Denim; Versafine Claire - Acorn, Morning Mist; Versamark
Dies: Spellbinders - Nested Eggs (S4-264) #4; WF - Dotted Sunburst
Accessories: White Card; SU Card - Very Vanilla; Copics; Shimmer Spray - Sparkle; Gems; Clear Embossing Powder

I'm submitting this to Color Hues - CH#83 - I do like these colours.

This card is a companion to the one I made for my Mum on Sunday. I cut a piece of cream card slightly smaller than an A2 note card and used the dotted sunburst die to cut a pattern in the card. I spritzed on a shimmer spray that has a slight gold tint and set it aside to dry. I used one of my favourite stamps sets from WMS. I stamped the largest egg onto cream card with Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder. I brushed on blue ink to reveal the lovely pattern on the Easter egg. I ended up using a smaller die to cut out the central part of the egg. I added a touch of darker blue ink around the edge of the egg. I adhered the egg to the cream panel and added them both the the A2 note card. I stamped a greeting and added that to the card. I finished the front of the card by adding some little crystal gems to the Easter egg.

Inside the card, I cut a mat layer of cream card. On the white panel I stamped a greeting and created a basket of Easter eggs. I love the colours - the card looks very elegant.

I'm off to the hairdresser this afternoon. I'm going to have some blonde highlights added to my hair - I'll share a photo later. Bye for now.

Easter Bunnies

... Morning!! Here's another of the Easter cards that I made this weekend. This is a fun, cute card with lots of Easter bunnies and Easter eggs:

Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps - Spring Baskets, Vintage Postcards; Lawn Fawn - Easter Before 'n' Afters, Magic Spring Messages, Happy Happy Happy, Celebration Scripty Sentiments; WF - Postage Collage
Inks: Gina K - Dusty Pink; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
Dies: Waffle Flower - A6 Postage Collage
Accessories: White & Kraft Card; WF - A6 Blocks Stencil; Copic Markers

I'm submitting this card to Sunday Stamps Challenge - SSC#331where they have some lovely spring colours to play with - perfect for an Easter card.

This card is a US A6 card measuring 4½" x 6¼" and using the WF A6 die, I can make a postage stamp style using their die. I'm very keen on the postage collage dies and have them in A2, A6, A7, and mini-slimline - so much fun!! Anyway, I die cut the A6 white panel and used the matching A6 blocks stencil and lightly brushed on pink ink to define the 'stamps'. I used a mix of stamps to add images and a greeting, I coloured the images with Copic markers and once all the little 'stamps' were created, I added postage elements. I layered the finished panel on kraft card and added the whole lot to the front of a side-opening A6 white note card.

For the inside, I cut a mat layer of kraft card. On the white panel, I stamped a greeting mixing stamps from two sets, added another cute bunny, coloured with Copic markers and added to the card.

This card was going to be for our daughter, Kat and her partner, Kobie. However, I've been asked for separate cards!! Not that it will be a hardship as making cards is jus so much fun. That's all for now - I'm off to make some more cards and listen to my new Audible book. See you soon.

April Calendar Page

... Hello! It's been a while since I posted on my blog. I've been so busy working on my monthly dyalogs that card making has slipped by the wayside!! However, I have decorated my April calendar page:

Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps - Lil Buddies, Nestie Eggs, Spring Basket
Inks: Gina K - Obsidian, Key Lime, Sweet Mango, Bubblegum Pink, Turquoise Sea; Kaleidacolor - Luau
Accessories: Copics; A4 Wire Bound 2023 Blank Calendar

I'm submitting this calendar page to Love to Craft Challenge Blog - LTCCB#73 where it's always, Anything Goes.

It was easy to pick the theme for the month, as Easter is next weekend. I decided I wanted Easter eggs and spring flowers and I knew just the stamps sets to use. They are all by Claire Brennan, Waltzingmouse Stamps - now, sadly, the company is closed. But I have the stamps and I love getting them out to play. I stamped the eggs in colour, added the flowers, bees and butterflies and used Copic markers to colour them in. These are my favourite type of Easter eggs - pretty and calorie free!!!

That's all from me today. See you all again soon.

ASM - Holidays ....

....  Hello and good evening!  It's time for our new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!  Our challenge this week is Addicted to Holidays - Easter, Christmas, Valentine, National Holidays or even just a holiday theme - your choice.  Our sponsor this week is StitchyBears Stamps and the winner of the challenge will get 3 digital images up to the value of $10.  I need some Easter cards so I made an elegant card using an image from StichyBears:

Easter - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: StitchyBear Stamps Digi - Easter Bouquet; Waltzingmouse Stamps - Spring Baskets
Inks: Memento - London Fog; Stampin' Up! - Wild Wasabi
Dies: Spellbinders - Labels 25 (S5-77) #4
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Kaisercraft DP - Secret Admirer; Copic Markers; Wink of Stella - Clear; SU Card - Wild Wasabi

I really like this image with the lovely spring flowers and fabulous Easter eggs.  I printed the image three times as I wanted to layer up the eggs.  I coloured the image with Copic Markers and cut the main image out with this elegant die.  I edged the image with a dark green Copic marker for definition.  I added some sparkle to all the flowers and to the eggs too.  I have three layers for the eggs - the full layers at the bottom, the next layer is the red and blue egg and the final layer is just the blue egg.  I covered the card with design paper - love the pretty green foil dots - and finished the front with a die cut sentiment in green card.  I die cut the word three times, glued them together and then adhered them to the card.  On the inside I have a mat layer of design paper and on the white panel I stamped a basket of little Easter eggs along with a greeting.  I've also taken a close-up of the eggs, showing the sparkle!!

Scary Easter card at ASM with Rick St Dennis ...

.... Hello all!  I'm wearing a different hat today - our sponsor at Addicted to Stamps and More! is Rick St Dennis and I have the great good fortune to be part of Rick's Elite Design Team, so that's the hat I'm wearing!  The winner of the challenge will get three of Rick's digis - there's a huge choice ranging from cute and sweet through to dark and quite scary!! The theme for our ASM challenge is Holiday - you can pick any holiday, and I had a great time going through Rick's images at Zibbet and Esty - my image made me think of Easter.

Now a quick warning, this is not a cute or sweet image, but it is fun and, I think, suitable for those with a different sense of humour :))))  Here's my card:

Happy Easter - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Rick St Dennis Digi - Evil Flesh Eating Eggs; Waltzingmouse - Spring Baskets; Stampin' Up! - Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Grey Flannel
Dies: Spellbinders - Mega Rectangles Lg (S4-142) #4, Deckled Mega Rectangles Lg (S5-014) #5
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Basic Black; Copic Markers

I absolutely love this image and got it as soon as Rick released it, but I wasn't sure how to use it.  When Kathryn saw it - she just loved it!  So I decided that it might make a fun Easter card for a teenager.  I coloured the eggs with Copic markers, cut it out with a die and layered it onto a black mat.  The hardest part was doing a greeting for the front of the card - Jonathan came up with this one!  Normally at Easter you send the kids out on an egg hunt - well this time they're hunting you!!!  I printed the sentiment on my computer using the font Civitype FG at 28 pt; I coloured the word Easter to match the middle egg.  On the inside I cut a mat layer of black card.  On the white panel I added a sentiment and a few images - those evil eggs have thrown the cute eggs out of the basket!!

WMSFC - Colours ....

....  Hello again.  I'm back with my card for our Waltzingmouse Fanatics Challenge - WMSFC#30 - we have a colour challenge for you.  Here's my take:

Hello - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Pic-Nic Patterns, Offbeat Backgrounds, Sewing Box Hugs, Spring Baskets; Stampin' Up! - Endless Birthday Wishes
Inks: SU - Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade, Concord Crush; Memento - Tuxedo Black, Grey Flannel
Dies: Spellbinders - Squares Lg (S4-126) #3, Squares Sm (S4-128) #3
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Lucky Limeade, Bermuda Bay; SU DP - Melon Mambo, Wisteria Wonder; Copic Markers

Our colours this week are teal, lilac, bright pink, lime green and purple - you don't have to use them all, but I managed!!  I used the sketch from this week's Mojo Monday - MOJO#369; it's been ages since I played along with them.  I used the dimension they provided, 5½" × 7" and score at 3½" to make a 5½" × 3½" card (still fits an A2 envelope).  I didn't want a solid purple, so I made my own paper by stamping the polka dots in purple and then stamping the flower on top.  I stamped the flower several times and fussy cut to get the layers I needed.  As I need to send this through the post, I kept the flowers flat.  I die cut some square to layer behind each flower.  I stamped the trellis pattern in pink and used that behind the squares.  I finished the front with a stamped stripe, paper bow and simple sentiment.  On the inside I cut a mat layer in Melon Mambo design paper and a white panel for my message.

Hello - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems
For more inspiration with our fun and bright colours, check out the blog to see what Tara and Kathy have made.  Hopefully, you'll have more fun with this week's challenge - you didn't much like the Halloween theme!!!

Don't forget you MUST use at least one Waltzingmouse stamp, sentiment or digi on your project.  You have until Thursday 13th November 10.00pm GMT (5.00pm EST) to play along.

That's all - see you soon.
