C24C - Christmas Food & Drink ....

.... Morning!! It's time for our last challenge of 2020 at Christmas 24 Challenge. It's been a heck of a year for us all but, if you've been playing along with the challenge, you will have made at least 24 cards for your stash. I made many more!! Today our challenge is a super fun one of Holiday Food and Drink - C24C#24. Here's my take:

Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps - Oven Fresh Gingerbread Joy, Around Christmas Time
Inks: Gina K - Charcoal Brown, Cherry Red, Christmas Pine; Versamark
Dies: WMS - Gingerbread Family
Accessories: White Card; Kaisercraft DP - Gingerbread; Clear Embossing Powder; Copic Markers; Glitter

Sadly Waltzingmouse Stamps are no longer available, but I love Claire's designs and the Gingerbread folk are firm favourites and come out at least once a year. I started by stamping the Gingerbread folk on white card removing them from the MISTI and colouring the images with Copic markers. I returned the images to the MISTI, stamped the images with Versamark and then again with red and green ink. I then added clear embossing powder and heated. This techniques gives a crisp shine to the finished image. I used the matching dies to cut out the Gingerbread kids. Next I stamped the large Christmas pudding on white card, I used the same technique to add colour to the pudding and holly. I fussy cut the pudding and some extra holly leaves. I found the perfect design paper in my stash and cut a panel for the front of the card. I stamped the sentiment, added some more little gingerbread folk, some peppermint candy canes and little stars. I adhered the pudding flat to the card, added the gingerbread kids and used foam to add the holly leaves. Prior to adhering the pudding, I added some glitter to the icing. On the inside of the card, I cut a mat layer from another sheet of design paper and on the white panel simply stamped another message and another Gingerbread kid.

I'm submitting this card to The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge - H&ICC#85 where it's Anything Christmas Goes.

Please don't forget to visit our blog - Christmas 24 Challenge - to see more inspiration from the rest of the design team. While I've finished my cards for this year, this is one of my first one for next year. It really is never too early to make a start of your cards. Have fun and I look forward to stopping by to see your creations. See you soon!

Christmas Wishes ....

... Good Morning!  We had a really wonderful evening last night.  It was the first night of the Christmas Choir concerts at Northville High School.  The choirs at the school are superb.  Kat and a group of her friends had a small ensemble bit during Joy to the World, so proud of her.  The Chorale Choir, made up more advanced singers, sang "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" as they walked into the concert hall - it was magnificent.  I am now totally in the spirit of Christmas - spent all day yesterday listening to Christmas music and making more Christmas cards.  The ones I make now will be for next year's stash!!  Here's the one I made:

Christmas Wishes - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Oven Fresh Gingerbread Joy, Tis the Season; Stampin' Up! - Endless Wishes
Inks: Memento - Lady Bug, Pear Tart; Versamark; Versafine - Onyx Black
Dies: Waltzingmouse - Gingerbread Family
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Kaisercraft DP - Gingerbread; Crafter's Companion EF - Star; Clear Embossing Powder

I'm submitting this card to a few challenges:

When I saw that the Merry Monday theme was baking I knew that I wanted to use my little gingerbread stamps.  The colours at Colour Q are just perfect for a festive look.  I stamped three gingerbread kids in Versmark on kraft card and heat embossed them with clear powder, and then  I stamped two red and two green gingerbread kids.  I cut them all out with the coordinating dies.  In my stash I found the perfect design paper - Gingerbread, by Kaisercraft - and used a piece that reminded me of icing on gingerbread to cover the bottom of the card.  I cut a panel of white card, stamped the sentiment and then embossed it for more detail.  I finished the front by adhering the gingerbread kids.  On the inside I used another piece of design paper for the mat layer and on the white panel added a Christmas greeting, along with a couple more gingerbread kids!

On Facebook I've seen photo that my friends and family have posted of their wonderful Christmas trees.  We don't have ours up yet, so I think today I'm going into the basement to find the tree and all the decorations and make our house look festive too!  That's all for now.  See you tomorrow.

52CCT - Sketch ....

....  Good morning everyone!  It's time for our new challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and this month our hostess is Ruth - she has some fabulous challenges in store for us.  As usual, we start the month with a sketch.  Here's my take:

Be Merry - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Oven Fresh Gingerbread Joy, Half Baked Gingerbread Joy, Alpine Christmas, Bitty Banners, Seasons of Love
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink; Versafine - Onyx Black; Memento - Tuxedo Black
Dies: WMS - Gingerbread Family; Lil' Inkers - Stitched Squares #2 & 6
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU DP - Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink;

I used a few other challenges to help me make this card:

I cut a couple of mat layers for the card; the pink layer was cut using the stitched square die from Lil Inkers - I do like the effect it gives.  I stamped the gingerbread couple onto white card using the outline stamps, then stamped the clothes and finally die cut them using the matching dies.  I stamped the top hat in Versafine to get a really deep, even black colour and fussy cut it out.  I stamped the dotty banner and cut it out by hand.  I finished the front with another stitched square, stamped the sentiment here and added a bit of holly and a couple of stars.  On the inside I cut another mat in orange and stamped a few gingerbread babies and a sweet sentiment.
