TMR - Theme ....

... Hello! I can't quite believe that it's been two weeks since I posted anything!! Time is going by so fast. Anyway, it's time for our new challenge at The Male Room - TMR#81. We have a fun theme, we want to see Space/Science inspired masculine projects. I actually ended up making two cards, here's the first with a science theme:

Our Chemistry - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: My Favourite Things - LLD Undeniable Chemistry
Inks: Distress - Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough, Lucky Clover; Versamark
Dies: Die-namics - Chemistry Set
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Garden Green; Copic Markers; Spectrum Noir - Clear Sparkle Brush; White and Clear Embossing Powder

I'm submitting this card to AAA Cards - AAA#110 where they have an Ombre theme, to The Card Concept - CC#88 where they want shades of green, and to CAS(E) this Sketch! - CTS#262. I die cut several different flasks from white card and coloured them with shades of green - moving from the most concentrated to the least. I stamped some 'molecules' in Versamark on to the card base, heat embossed them with clear powder and then inked over with soft shades of green. I also stamped some little hearts in the same shades of green. I stamped a sentiment on green card in Versamark and heat embossed with white powder. I added lots of sparkle to the 'chemicals' in the flasks and adhered them to the card. On the inside, I cut a mat layer of dark green card and added a fun sentiment on the white panel with more 'chemical' symbols!!

I was on a bit of a roll, so I made a second card, this time with a space theme:

Shoot for the Moon - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Altenew - To The Moon, Happy Dreams; Uniko - Reach for the Stars
Inks: Versamark; Delicata - Silvery Shimmer; Gina K - Moonlit Fog, Dark Sage
Dies: Die-namics - Circles Set 2 #5
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Stampin' Up! Card - Basic Black; Shimmer Spritz - Frost; White Embossing Powder

I made the card base from Stampin' Up! black card. I used the multi-step moon image from To The Moon to create the focal image, stamping in silver, pale grey and dark grey, and cut it out with a circle die. I spritzed the card with frost shimmer spray to give the impression of a galaxy of stars. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed with white powder. I finished the front by added a few larger stars in silver. On the inside, I cut a panel of white card on which I stamped another moon and added a greeting. I'm submitting this card to Less Is More - LIM#366 where they want a monochromatic card.

That's all from me for today. But do visit The Male Room blog to see lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team and also from our Guest Designer Lynda from Lynda's Crafty Hall. You've got lots of time to play along with this challenge, submission deadline is midnight BST on Tuesday 27th March, that's 7.00pm EDT in the States. Have fun!!

Inner nerd ....

.... Hello! I've another card with a science theme for you this morning. I was having lots of fun and the stamps were still on my desk, so I had to do it:

Nerdy - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: MFT - Undeniable Chemistry; Sweet Stamp Shop - Elements; There She Goes - Cutie Pi
Inks: Kaleidacolor - Fresh Greens; Versafine - Onyx Black
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Stampin' Up! Card - Emerald Envy; Clear Embossing Powder; Zig Brushes; Wink of Stella - Clear

I really like the way the word "nerdy" is made up from actual chemcial elements - makes me so happy! In my stash is a very old (and now discontinued) stamp set from There She Goes with this wonderful "atomic" structure image and I think it goes so with with the sentiment. I used Zig paint brushes to colour the letters and hearts and added some clear Wink of Stella for shimmer. I layered the panel on emerald green card and then attached it to the base. On the inside is a mat layer of green card and on the white panel I added a sentiment and another image.

This is going to go in my stash of cards that I send to Jonathan, together we make a great team. So I'm going to submit this to CASology - CAS#223. Oh yes, it also works for our challenge at The Male Room - TMR#48 where our theme is SCIENCE. I've managed two cards for their challenge this week. That's all for now!

TMR - Theme ....

.... Morning! I'm here today with a couple of cards for our new challenge at The Male Room - TMR#48. For the next couple of weeks we want to see your masculine projects with a SCIENCE theme. How you interpret science is up to you - you can pick a specific area, you can concentrate on scientists or discoveries. I made a couple of fun cards:

Stay Positive - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: MFT - Undeniable Chemistry
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake; Versamark
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Crumb Cake; Clear Embossing Powder

I used the sketch from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch - CTS#197 challenge. The colours are from CAS-ual Fridays Challenge - CFC#160 and the theme of encouragement is from Just Us Girls - JUGS#368. I cut a panel of kraft card for the top of the card and randomly stamped "atomic" structures in different colour inks. I stamped the sentiment at an angle and embossed it with clear powder. On the inside I cut a mat layer of kraft card and added a few images to the white panel. This card will go in my stash - it's just the sort of card I'll send to Ben.

I was having so much fun playing with my various science/chemistry stamps sets that I made another card:

Chemistry - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: MFT - Undeniable Chemistry; Sweet Stamp Shop - Elements
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black; Versamark
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Concord Crush; Zig Brushes; Wink of Stella - Clear; Gold Washi Tape; Gold and Clear Embossing Powder

I've used the colours from Less is More - LIM#301 - gold and purple - for this card, and I think this works for CASology - CAS#223 where the cue word is TEAM. I stamped the sentiment first in black and heat embossed it with clear powder. I repeated the sentiment and embossed the word chemistry in gold. I stamped the cute glassware image, heat embossed with clear powder and coloured it with Zig brushes. I added some sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella brush. I attached a strip of gold glitter washi tape to the card and then adhered the panel on top. On the inside I cut a mat layer of purple card and on the white panel added a sentiment and another image, heat embossed with clear powder and added a touch of colour too.

I may end up making some more "science/chemistry" themed cards for my stash - they satisfy my inner nerd!! Do visit our blog to see more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team - as always they are fantastic. You've got lots of time to play along with the challenge - deadline for submission is midnight GMT Tuesday 22nd November (that's 7.00pm EST). Bye for now!
