Uniko - sponsor CASology ....

... Hello and good morning! Uniko is sponsoring this week's challenge at CASology - CAS#236 where the cue word is ROMANCE. I am so happy to join in this week and have made an anniversary card:

Happy Anniversary - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko - Always & Forever, Flower Power #3, Flower Power #4, Flower Power #7, A Gift for You
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Smoky Slate, Pretty in Pink, Real Red; Versafine - Onyx Black; Versamark
Dies: Sizzix/Tim Holtz - Scibbles & Splat
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Real Red; Vellum; Embossing Powder - Clear & Iridescent

I used the sketch from the current Fusion Challenge - FUSION#166 for the layout, and the colours are from CAS-ual Fridays Challenge - CFC#167 to use red, pink and white. I created my own text background with my MISTI. I placed all the sentiments in a line, and alternated grey and pink to stamp the text. I was able to ensure precise stamping using the grid paper which made moving the panel so easy. I adhered the finished panel direct to the card. I die cut the scribble heart from red card and embossed it with iridescent powder - love the subtle shimmer. I created the pink tag from vellum. I lightly inked the reverse with red ink. Once completely dry, I die cut the flag and then stamped the greeting in black and heat embossed with clear powder. I finished the tag by stamped a couple of hearts at the top in red. On the inside I cut a mat layer of red card. I kept the white panel really simple with a stamped heart and greeting.

UC - Spring/Easter Reminder ....

.... Hello! I'm back today with a card to remind you about this month's Uniko Challenge - Easter/Spring:

April Showers - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko - Background Builders Round in Circles, Flower Power #4, Pure Florals Cosmos
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black; Versafine - Onyx Black; Kaleidacolor - Pastel
Dies: Spellbinders - Nested Eggs (S4-264) #1, #2 and #3
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Copics; Wink of Stella - Clear

I used up the Easter eggs that I made for last week's card on this one! I also had the Cosmos floral set on my desk, so I combined them to make a card for Spring and Easter combined. I coloured the flowers with Copics and added just a hint of sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella brush. The little butterflies were made using one of the tiny stamps from Flower Power #4. For more inspiration, do visit our blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have made. I'm submitting this to AAA Cards - AAA#60. That's all for today.

USC - Anything Goes ....

....  Good morning!  We have snow in Northville - not a lot, but I can see snowflakes going past my window - hopefully it won't settle and spring will be back soon.

I'm here to remind you that there's still plenty of time to join in with our Anything Goes challenge at Uniko Studio - USC#19 - I'm rather late with my card, but here it is anyway:

Happy Easter - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko Studio - Flower Flower #4, Background Builders Round in Circles, Fontiments - Birthday
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Bermuda Bay, Costal Cabana; Encore -Gold; Versafine - Onyx Black
Dies: Cheery Lynn - Lace Egg Five; Die-namics - In & Out Diagonal Stitched Squares #3
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Bermuda Bay; Kaisercraft DP - All That Glitters

I've based the layout on our sketch (it's optional, but if you do use the sketch then you'll have the chance of winning a £10 Uniko Studio gift voucher).  I love the design paper I've used - so pretty.  I cut the Easter egg using card slightly darker than the bubbles in the paper.  I've CASEd Bev's card as I think the circles work perfectly with the design paper.  I finished the front with this simple greeting.  On the inside I used the rest of the design paper and, because I didn't want to hide it, die cut a small panel of white card on which I stamped some little petals and a bold sentiment.

Do visit Uniko Studio to see more inspiration cards from the team and from our Guest Designer, Emily.  Don't forget you don't have to use Uniko Studio stamps for your card, but we do like it if you do.  Have fun.  I'm staying in today - the snow is getting a bit harder!!  Crazy considering it's almost the end of March.

RSD - Progressive Challenge Team B ....

......  Hello!!!  It's time for Team B to share with you our projects for our new Progressive Challenge.  This time, as well as using a Rick St Dennis image, we have a theme for you to create a SPRING/EASTER project.  I've made a clean, simple and pretty Easter card:

Happy Easter - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Rick St Dennis Digi - Easter Turtle; Uniko Studio - Flower Power #4
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Strawberry Slush, Costal Cabana, Certainly Celery; Memento - Tuxedo Black
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU DP - Calypso Coral; Copic Markers; Wink of Stella - Clear

I've used another of Rick's wonderful turtles - this one, Easter Turtle, is a real cutie and she's such fun to colour.   I used the layout from this week's CAS Colours & Sketches - CASC&S#115 but I have flipped it to work with my image.  The colours are from ShowCASE Your Style - SYSC#10.  I printed the turtle on white card, colour her with Copic markers and then cut her out.  I added some sparkle to her hat, her shell, her nails and the Easter eggs.  I stamped a couple of tall flowers in the background and created the horizontal strip by stamping little petals in lots of colours.  I finished the front with a simple Easter greeting.  On the inside I cut a mat layer of coral design paper and on the white panel stamped a greeting and added lots of pastel flowers.

There are lots of wonderful spring and Easter images in Rick's Zibbet and Esty shops - so pop along and find something to play along with our Progressive Challenge.  We look forward to seeing what you create, add your links to our special Progressive Challenge page here.  Have fun!

Uniko Studio - Revisit Flower Power #4 ...

....  Good morning! Looks like spring has finally arrived in Northville, Michigan.  We've had temperatures above freezing for several days in a row, the sun has been shining and the snow is melting - yea!!!!!

This morning the Uniko Studio DT is revisiting one of Bev's stamps sets - Flower Power #4 which is a lovely set containing pretty floral elements and spring/Easter sentiments.  Here's my card:

Mother - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko Studio - Flower Power #4
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Hello Honey, Certainly Celery
Dies: Waltzingmouse - Mother
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU DP - Certainly Celery; SU Card - Certainly Celery; Vellum; Martha Stewart Border Punch

I suddenly realised that it's Mother's Day in the UK this weekend and I needed a couple of cards to send home.  I've used the colours from this week's Less is More - LIM#214 (although I'm not submitting this card as it's not CAS), and I've used the layout from Clean & Simple Stamping - FTL#02 (where they're revisiting all the early sketches).

I created lots of little flowers on the card, stamping the outline first in Hello Honey, then the solid flower in Daffodil Delight and added the little edges in So Saffron.  These stamps are really easy to line up.  I used the larger leaf, that's what I'm calling it, and stamped in green .  I covered the card with a sheet of vellum giving a lovely soft front.  I punched a border in some green design paper and added that to the edge of the card and finished the front with a wonderfully ornate die cut word "Mother" and a simple little flower.  On the inside I cut a mat layer of green design paper and on the white panel added some flowers.  Excuse the marks on the white panel, I erased the greeting to show the panel.

The rest of the Design Team have made such pretty cards with Flower Power #4 - take a sneak peak here and this is the order of our hop:

Deborah - that's me!

How about a Giveaway?  Simply comment along the hop for a chance to win the featured set or a Gift Certificate to the same value if you already own the set.  You have until midnight (GMT) on Wednesday 18th March to comment.  The winner will be announced on the Uniko Stuido blog on Thursday 19th March

That's all for now - have a great day.
