Uniko - Revisit and Blog Hop ....

..... Morning! I'm running a bit late with my project for Uniko's June Revisit and Blog Hop. This month we're showcasing the Beautiful Blooms range - there are three sets, and I've made a birthday card using Beautiful Blooms 2:

Happy Birthday - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko - Beautiful Blooms 2, Birthday Sentiments
Inks: Versafine Clair - Summertime, Glamorous, Green Oasis; Versafine - Onyx Black; Distress - Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin
Dies: Die-namics - Linked Octagon Frame #2
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Gina K Card - Black Onyx; Uniko Stencil - Party Confetti; Wink of Stella - Clear

I love these pretty layering stamps they create the most lovely flower - you can, however, use the images on their own with just the outline, the solid or the filling. I've used a couple of challenges putting this card together - CAS Colours & Sketches - CASC&S#275 for the colours, and CAS(E) this Sketch! - CTS#275 for the layout. I started by creating the stencilled panel using a couple of different distress inks, die cut the panel and kept the linked frame. I used my MISTI (it really helps) to stamp the flowers and leaves and used my Scan'n'Cut to cut them out. I adhered the stencilled panel to some black card, adhered one of the flowers so that it looks like it's peeking out from the frame and then adhered the linked frame on top. I then used dimensional pads to attach the other flowers and leaves. I finished the front by stamping the large word on scrap card and fussy cutting it out and stamping the little word above. On the inside, I cut a mat layer of black card, and on the white panel added a greeting and another flower - using just the outline and fill images. This card is for my mother-in-law who has her birthday at the beginning of July. I'm going to take it to the UK with me later this week and give it to her next week - can't wait to see her!!!

I had planned to make lots more cards to show off all three sets, but I ran out of time, so I'm going to cheat a bit and show some cards that I made earlier this year using Beautiful Blooms 1 for our 6th Birthday Treasure Hunt:

And a card that I made in 2016 using Beautiful Blooms 3:

That's all from me today, but do visit the Uniko blog to see more from the rest of the team. Don't forget to join in the Blog Hop too and leave comments as you go. You've got until midnight (BST) Monday 18th June to leave a comment and be in with a chance to win your choice of one of these gorgeous sets.

See you all again soon.

Uniko - September Release, DT Blog Hop and Giveaway ....

.... Good morning! Today's the day! The new stamps from Uniko are available to buy today over at the Uniko shop. I've got a few cards to share with you this morning. I'm going to start with a clean, simple and bright card:

Reach for the Stars - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko - Background Blocks Stars, Reach for the Stars
Inks: Gina K - Black Onyx , Red Velvet; Versamark
Dies: Lil Inkers - Stitched Stars #1, #2 and #3
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Copics; Silver Tinsel Embossing Powder; Wink of Stella - Clear; Vellum

I got the inspiration for this card from the graphic on the Colour Throwdown Challenge - CTD#459 - the stripes on the vase reminded me of the striped stars on the Background Blocks Stars stamps. The layout is based on the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches - FMS#304. As I coloured the stars with my markers, I'm submitting this one to CAS on Friday - CASOF#116. I stamped the image using my MISTI, then coloured it with Copic markers. Once coloured I stamped the image again in Versamark and heat embossed with silver tinsel embossing powder - I do think stars need to sparkle!! I layered the image on some black card and adhered it to a 4 bar card - it's a bit smaller than an A2 card, but it fits the background block size perfectly. I die cut three stars from white card and coloured two of them to match the stars on the panel and then I added sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella brush. I layered the stars with dimensional pads. I stamped the word "stars" on white card, cut it out and then layered it onto some vellum. On the inside I cut a mat layer of black card and on the white panel added some stars down the side. There's plenty of space for a message.

My next card features lots and lots and lots of little stars:

Happy Birthday - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko - Background Builders Seeing Stars; Beautiful Blooms I; Simply Said Blocks; Happy Succulents
Inks: Gina K - Onyx Black, Cherry Red, Red Hot, Sweet Mango, Wild Dandelion, Jelly Bean Green, Blue Lagoon, Blue Raspberry, Wild Lilac, Lovely Lavender; Versamark
Dies: Uniko - Beautiful Blooms
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Stampin' Up! - Basic Black; Clear Embossing Powder; Simon Says - Moonshine Confetti

The current challenge at TIME OUT Challenge - TOC#91 is to CASE our very own Beverley Brown - and I had to play along with that challenge. Bev's card has a lovely rainbow of solid colours with the pretty lily outline flower, so I played on that. On my card I've stamped a somewhat larger rainbow of stars and my flower is solid black, as is my greeting. I stamped the flower on white card, cut it out with the matching die and then "enamelled" it using Versamark mark and clear embossing powder. It has a lovely shine. I layered the rainbow panel on black card and finished the front with some clear sequins. On the inside I cut a mat layer of black card and kept the white panel fairly simple with a fun greeting and lots of rainbow stars!

My last card today has dots and flowers:

Inspire Me - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko - Background Blocks Polka Dots, Simply Said Blocks, Beautiful Blooms II, Reach for the Stars
Inks: Gina K - Black Onyx, Jelly Bean Green, Sweet Mango, Cherry Red
Dies: Die-namics - Pierced Circle Frames #2
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Basic Black; Vellum; Wink of Stella - Clear

I've used the sketch from FUSION - FUSION#81 for the layout of this card, and the colours are from CAS Colours & Sketches - CASC&S#239. I created the dotty panel by stamping the polka dots in all three colours, trimming the panel to size and then covered it with some shimmery vellum to soften the colours. I used the ink direct to paper to colour some card green and then die cut the circle frame. I stamped the flowers and added a touch of colour to the insides. I finished the front with a simple sentiment. On the inside I cut a mat layer of black card and added a greeting and some stars to the white panel.

Uniko - Sponsors Less is More .....

.. Hello again! I've got a busy day for you here today. Above is a link for my CCT post. Today Uniko is sponsoring Less is More - LIM#317 who are also celebrating - it's their 6th birthday. They have a super sketch for us to use and here's my card:

Best Wishes - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko - Valentine Freebie Hearts, Simply Said Birthday, Background Builders Vines, Beautiful Blooms II, Fontiments Birthday
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Pistachio Pudding, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose; Versafine - Onyx Black
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Pistachio Pudding; Copics; Spectrum Noir Sparkle - Clear

I decided to use one of the lovely hearts for this card. I printed the heart on white card, colour it with Copics, cut it out and then added lots of sparkle to the flowers. I stamped the background vines on my MISTI and then adhered the heart flat to the card. I finished the front with a simple banner greeting, mounted with dimensional tape. On the inside I cut a mat layer of pale green card and on the white panel I stamped another flowers and a simple birthday greeting. As this is a birthday card, I'm submitting to the current Seize the Birthday - STB1602 challenge.

Do visit Uniko and Less is More to check out more inspiration cards from both DTs. I'll be back soon with lots more for you to see. Bye for now!

Uniko - Revisit ......

....  Hello and Good Morning!  It's time for our August 2015 Team Blog Hop at Uniko.  Beverley usually releases new sets every other month, and in the month where there are no new stamps, we get the chance to revisit some of Bev's previous releases.  This month we're having a play with a couple of sets Beautiful Blooms I and Beautiful Blooms II, both feature fabulous flowers, appropriate for summer.  Here's my card:

Stamps: Uniko - Beautiful Blooms II, All Occasion Sentiments #3
Inks: Versamark; Versafine - Onyx Black; Stampin' Up! - So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder, Blushing Bride
Dies: Die-namics - Thank You; Winnie & Walter - Party Confetti Cutaways; Spellbinders - Nested Pennants (S5-025)
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Cuttlebug EF - Geometric Rings; SU Card - Wisteria Wonder, So Saffron, Blushing Bride; Vellum; Gold Embossing Powder; Clear Embossing Powder; Gold Mirri Card

I used a few challenges making this card.  The colours are from CAS Colours & Sketches - CASC&S#135, I've used vellum which is the featured trend at Just Us Girls - JUGS#305 and I've cased Michele's beautiful card at MUSE - MUSE#128.

I stamped the outline flower from Beautiful Blooms II in Versamark and heat embossed them with gold powder.  Then I stamped the smaller shading image in three different colours on to the vellum and heat embossed with clear powder.  Then I cut them all out!  I cut a panel of white card, slightly smaller than the card base, embossed it and adhered it to the card base.  I die cut the word "thank" from the same three colours and adhered them to create the effect of a drop shadow.  I stamped the word "you" in Versafine on vellum, heat embossed it with clear powder and used a die to cut out a flag.  I finished the front with a gold flourish.  I've not had chance to finish the inside yet - but will add a photo once it's done.

Thank You sq - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Now it's time to check out what Bev and the rest of the team have made using either Beautiful Blooms I or Beautiful Blooms II:

And we have a GIVEAWAY too - simply comment along the Hop for your chance too win the featured sets or an ecertificate to the same value if you already own the sets.

That's all for now - thanks so much for stopping by.  See you soon.

US - Farewell & Thank You Sandie ....

....  Hello again!  If you want to see my 52CCT post click here.

Today we are saying a sad farewell to Sandie, who is stepping down from the Uniko Design Team.  Sandie is known to many of us in blogland and she will be much missed on this team.  Sandie has helped Bev with a lot of the background admin, so we hope that this will come as a big surprise.   Here's my card:

Thank You Sandie - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko - Beautiful Blooms II, All Occasion Sentiments #3
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black; Stampin' Up! - Wisteria Wonder
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Elegant Eggplant; SU DP - Elegant Eggplant; Cosmic Shimmer Sprays - Candy Pink, Silver, Purple Violet; Vellum; Clear Embossing Powder

I've picked the colours on my card to reflect the colours on Sandie's blog - London Days, love those shades of purple!!  I'm entering this card into Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge - HLSCASJun where we have to use sprays or mists.

I stamped the Beautiful Blooms outline image in Versafine and heat embossed them with clear powder.  I water coloured the flowers with purple Cosmic shimmer - they really do shimmer in real-life!  Then I cut them all out.  I cut a panel of white card and used several Cosmic shimmer sprays - although I didn't actually spray them, I spattered the colours on the card.  I cut a strip of vellum and stamped the greeting in Versafine, heat embossed with clear powder and then wrapped it round the white panel and adhered the lot to some purple card.  I finished the front by adhered three flowers using dimensional gel.  On the inside I cut a mat layer of purple design paper and added a sentiment and flower on the white panel.
