Make Tea ....

... Good afternoon! I hope your morning has been going well. I've been out for my walk - I'm up to 2½ miles now, it's lovely to hear the birds sing. Since being home, I've been in my office sorting things out, listening to music and making a card:

Stamps: Uniko - I Love Tea; Waltzingmouse Stamps - Afternoon Tea, Afternoon Tea Sentiments
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black; Gina K - Black Amalgam, Soft Stone; Memento - Angel Pink, Lulu Lavender
Accessories: White Card; Stampin' Up! Card - Highland Heather; Copic Markers; Clear Embossing Powder; Uniko Stencils - Broken Lines, Scattered Polka Dots

I've made this card for several challenges - CAS Colours & Sketches - CASC&S#363 - I turned the sketch, CASology - CAS#364 where the theme is Tea, Colour Throwdown - CTD#585, and Uniko Challenge - USC#58 to use spots and stripes.

I don't drink tea myself, but I do know many people who do, and I've got lots of tea stamps, so I had to play along with CASology. I stamped the teacup outline image and used two stencils to add some colour to the cup. I restamped the image in Versafine and heat embossed with clear powder. I added the lovely flower image from I Love Tea and heat embossed that too. I then fussy cut the image and coloured the opening - it's tea afterall! I made the card base from purple card. I cut a white panel smaller than the front onto which I stamped a sentiment which I think is very appropriate for our current strange time. I adhered the teacup above the sentiment and then stamped some steam curls. On the inside, I cut another white panel and added a couple of teacups along with another sentiment. I've left space for my own message.

Well, we've reached the end of our first week having to stay in the house. I suspect that many of us have been catching up with jobs that we've been putting off. I did the shed last week, and next week I'm tackling the utility cupboard. There is a strange feeling in the village - the main road through our village is so much quieter, I don't really hear planes, just birdsong and dogs. Oh yes, there's also the sound of children playing in their gardens. It's a tough time for us all - be safe. See you soon.

RSD - Progressive Challenge Team B ....

.... Morning!  It's time for Part Two of our Progressive Challenge.  Those of you who played along with Part One will be able to get your free image, which MUST be used for this part of the challenge, from Monique.  Please click on the link and email her for your copy of the image - it's fab!!!  Team A have already shared their projects and today it's Team B's turn, here's my card:

Kettle's On! - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Rick St Dennis Digi - Mr TeA; Waltzingmouse - Afternoon Tea, Afternoon Tea Sentiments
Inks: Memento - London Fog; Stampin' Up! - Soft Sky
Dies: Spellbinders - Superellipse (S5-188) #2; Lawn Fawn - A Birdie Told Me
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Soft Sky; Copic Markers; Wink of Stella - Clear

Don't you just love Mr TeA?  He comes with a sentiment and without, I used the one without.  If you didn't play along with Part 1 of the challenge and you want to play along, you can find Mr TeA  at Rick's Zibbet shop here.  Why not browse Zibbet while you're there - Rick has so many fabulous images available.

As soon as I saw this image I knew what I wanted to do.  I created the background using the outline kettle from Afternoon Tea and added little tea cups to echo the teacups in Rick's image.  I printed Mr TeA on white card and coloured him with Copic markers, cut him out and added some sparkle to the big yellow teacup.  I love the crazy expression on his face.  I stamped the sentiment on white card, cut it out with a die and while still in the die added some colour.  On the inside of the card I cut a mat layer of pale blue card and stamped a tiny kettle in the corner.

Do pop along to Sparkle and Glitter to see what the rest of Team B have made to inspire you.  And please do play along - we'd love to see your creations.  You can link up by clicking here and adding your project to Mr Linky.  That's all for now - have fun!

WMSFC - Make your mark ....

....  I'm back with our new challenge at Waltzingmouse Fanatics.  For the next couple of weeks, we'd like you to:

Make your mark
Copics, Promarkers, Distress pens, watercolour pencils, glaze pens or paints

You must use at least one Waltzingmouse image, sentiment or digi.  Many of Claire's stamps are perfect for colouring and if you don't have any stamps, Claire has provided some free images here.  Here's my card:

Feel better soon - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Afternoon Tea Sentiments
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black; Stampin' Up! - Baja Breeze (d/c)
Dies: Spellbinders - Circle Sm (S4-116) #5, Circle Lg (S4-114) #4
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Kaisercraft DP - Blubelle; Copics; Wink of Stella Brush - Clear

I used the layout from the current Fusion Challenge - FUSION#15.  I used papers from Blubelle to create the card base.  They gave me the colours for the pansies too - although I went a little brighter!!  I stamped the image three times on white card.  One image I cut out using a circle die (out-of-the-box technique).  I coloured the leaves and flowers with Copic markers, adding some sparkle to the centre of each pansy.  I cut out the other images to layer up the flowers.  I layered the finished image on to a circle of orange design paper.  I finished the front with a simple sentiment.  The inside is blank for my own message.

Don't forget Tara has an inspiration card to share with you too - do leave us a comment - we all like comments :)  You have until Thursday 21st August, 5.00pm BST (Noon EDT) to play along.  If you know other Waltzingmouse Fans - do let them know about the challenge too.  That's all for now.
