C24C - Make it Sparkle ....

... Hi! Can you believe that we're already half-way through April? Me neither! It does mean that it's time for our new challenge at Christmas 24 Challenge - C24C#08 where we want you to Make it Sparkle! How you make it sparkle is up to you. I've made two cards:

Stamps: Dimension - FunkyTree; Concord & 9th - Very Merry Sentiments
Inks: Versafine Clair - Blue Belle, Green Oasis
Accessories: White and Cream Card; Lots of different Gems and Pearls

I'm playing along with The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge - H&ICC#69, where it's Anything Goes Christmas.

I've had this stamp for a long time, but I really like the funky look and the fact that it makes it so easy to add lots of pretty gems and pearls. I made a blue and white card, and green and cream. I simply stamped the tree and sentiment and then added the sparkle. On the inside, I kept it very simple with a nice Christmas verse.

I took a couple of close-up photos to show the sparkle of the pretty gems.

I'm sure that, like me, you have quite a stash of sparkly stuff - well this challenge gives you the opportunity to use some of it and get ahead with your Christmas cards. Don't forget to visit our blog to see what the rest of the team have created. Have fun. See you soon.

CCT - Stash .....

..... Good evening! I don't quite know where today has gone. It's a glorious day here in Northville with bright blue skies, brilliant sunshine and it's hot, and getting humid too!

I really do have to apologise to my team mates as I've been missing in action for a while - I've got my mum visiting from the UK and we tend to be busy doing stuff!! Anyway, I've finally made a card for our stash challenge - CCT12. We want you to use GEMS/PEARLS/SEQUINS on your Christmas cards. I've used a mixture of gems and pearls on my card:

Season's Greetings - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Dimension Stamps - Funky Tree; Uniko - Simply Said II, Most Wonderful, Happy Succulents
Inks: Versamark; Versafine - Onyx Black; Stampin' Up! - Emerald Envy
Dies: Lil Inkers - Dual Dotted Rectangles #4
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Emerald Envy; Gems; Copics; Green Tinsel Embossing Powder

I die cut a panel of white card, stamped the tree in Versamark and heat embossed with Green Tinsel powder - the tree has such a pretty shimmer! I adhered the panel to some green card just a bit bigger than the white panel. I added a mixture of gems and pearls to the tree. I finished the panel with a simple sentiment. I used dimensional tape to adhere the panel to the card base. I'm submitting this card to Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge - HLSXMAS06. On the inside I cut a mat layer of green card and added a simple greeting to the white panel.

52CCT - Stash ....

.....  Good morning!  Can you believe it's the last Saturday in October - only two months to go until Christmas.  Which brings me to our new challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown, this week we have a Stash Challenge.  We want you to use Enamel Dots on your projects.  Here's my take:

Noel - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Dimension Stamps - Funky Tree; Waltzingmouse - Tis the Season
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black; Stampin' Up! - Real Red, Smoky Slate
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Basic Black; Basic Grey and Doodlebug Sprinkles - various; SU Marker - Basic Black

I decided to let the enamel dots be the star of this card, so I stamped the funky tree and sentiment in black and then went wild with lots of enamel dots.  I drew the frame by hand.  On the inside I cut a mat layer in black.  On the white panel I stamped the tree in grey and added a bold greeting in bright red.  The card is actually brilliant white (not sort of pink as in the photo above) - I'll try to take new photos later in better light!

Check out the blog to see what the rest of the team have made using enamel dots!  You've got until Friday 31st October, midnight (7.00pm EDT) to join in.  Have fun!
