WMSFC - Theme ....

.... Hello again.  I'm back with my post for our new Waltzingmouse Fanatics challenge - WMSFC#31.  This time we've got a theme for you to play with - the theme is flowers.  Here's my take:

Mothers - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Roses in Bloom, Pic-Nic Patterns, Crackle Background
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Crisp Cantaloupe, Always Artichoke; Versamark; Memento - Tuxedo Black
Dies: Lil Inkers - Stitched Rectangles #3
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Always Artichoke, Crisp Cantaloupe; Copic Markers; Winks of Stella - Clear

I used the colours in our challenge graphic - I took the photo at a tulip farm in Holland, Michigan in May 2013 - for my card.  I based the layout on a recent sketch from My Favourite Things Wednesday Sketch Club - MFTWSC#201.  I used the large crackle background over the entire card base in pale peach.  I cut green and peach mats using a die, stamping a pattern on the green and adding a white panel with verse to the peach panel.  The rose, rose bud and leaf were stamped on white card, coloured with Copic markers and assembled to make one focal image.  I added sparkle to the rose and rose bud with a clear Wink of Stella brush.  I adhered the finished roses with dimensional gel.  On the inside I cut a mat layer of green card and on the white panel added another rosebud, leaving a large blank area for my message.  Also below is a close up of the rose showing the sparkle.

For more inspiration with our flower theme - check out the blog for projects from Kathy and Tara.  I'd like to remind everyone that you must use at least one Waltzingmouse image, sentiment or digi on your projects.  That's all for now - have fun!

WMSFC - Colours ....

...  Hello again, I'm back with our new challenge at Waltzingmouse Fanatics and this time it's colours.  I think the colours we've picked are absolutely gorgeous - bold, bright and vibrant.  Here's my card:

Thanks - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Crackle Background, Compact Sentiments
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black; Colourbox Pigment - Apple Green
Dies: WMS - You're A Doll; Lil' Inkers - Stitched Squares #4; Die-namics - Mini Delicate Doilies. Fishtail Flags Layers Stax #2
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Stampin' Up! Card - Concord Crush, Summer Starfruit, Crisp Cantaloupe; SU DP - Calypso Coral; Vellum; Promarker; Gems

Along with our lush colours, I used the layout from this week's My Favourite Things Wednesday Sketch Club - MFTWSC#174.  I made the card base from Concord Crush (a really wonderful purple) and cut a panel of white card to go onto top.  I stamped the crackle background in apple green and inked the edges of the panel before adhering it to the card.  I used the Lil' Inkers stitched squares to cut the square panel and adhered it to the card.  I cut the flag banner using my Die-namic fishtail flags - cutting both ends to give a double fishtail.  I used one of the mini doilies to cut three vellum doilies which I coloured with a dark green Promarker.  I finished the front with a flower die cut from two shades of coral, some gems and a simple sentiment.  For the inside I cut a mat layer of Crisp Cantaloupe and a white panel, which I left blank for a message.

For more inspiration using our colours - check out Tara's card and leave some love!  You have plenty of time to join in with the fun, the deadline for submission is Thursday 15th May, 5.00pm BST (Noon EDT).  As always your creation must include at least one Waltzingmouse image, sentiment or digi.  Really looking forward to seeing your creations.

I hope you all have a super weekend.  Today is Jonathan's 50th Birthday Party - should be lots of fun!  Hopefully, I'll get time to pop in again on Sunday.  Bye for now.

Birthday card ....

... Hello!  I hope you're all enjoying your weekend!  I've been having a great time.  Kathryn has had her friend over for the weekend, which is lots of fun for her and me - I get to play in my craft room as they don't want me around!!  A win-win situation.  Sadly, Jonathan is full of cold and not feeling great.

I've been very busy working on various design team cards - you'll get to see them soon, but I did get chance to make a sweet birthday card.

Owl Birthday - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Dare 2B Artzy - Owl Miss You; Waltzingmouse - Half Pint Heroes, Crackle Background
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa; Stampin' Up! - Sahara Sand
Dies: Dare 2B Artzy - Owl Die
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Copics; Stardust Pens

I think I've mentioned that I love owls!!  Recently I got some Dare 2B Artzy stamps from my local shop, and I found a few more on their website.  This sweet little lady was one of them!  I've used the colours from The Colour Throwdown - CTD#285 and the layout from Freshly Made Sketches - FMS#129.  I made the vertical panel by stamping the crackle pattern in sand and cutting to fit the card.  I stamped the branch across the horizontal piece of card, coloured the leaves with Copics and added a touch of sparkle from a Stardust pen.  I coloured the owl with Copics, adding a touch of sparkle to the centre of the flowers and to the edge of her eyes, she has been attached with dimensional tape.  I finished the front with a simple sentiment which I bent slightly to follow the line of the branch.  The inside has been left blank for my own message.  This one is going into my stash.

That's all for now!  See you soon.
