25 Tags of Christmas ...

... Hi! It's day 21 of Tracey McNeeley's 25 Days of Christmas Tags and today Uniko is sponsoring the challenge. I've made some very simple, but fun Christmas tags:

Trio of Christmas Tags - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko - Background Blocks Falling Snowflakes, Festive Sentiments, Most Wonderful, Peace on Earth
Inks: Versamark; Gina K - Black Onyx; Distress - Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire, Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough, Lucky Clover, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet Dusty Concord
Dies: Lil Inkers - Dotted Tags
Accessories: Strathmore Smooth Bristol Card; Ribbons; Clear Embossing Powder; Grey Mirri card

For this set of tags, I used my Lil Inker dotted dies to cut the card. I stamped the snowflakes on each tag in Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder. Then I coloured the tags with Distress inks to reveal the falling snow - I love this technique. There's a couple of tiny dies in the tag set that cut a hole in the tags and also cut out hole reinforcers - I used mirri card to create them. I finished the front of each tag with a simple greeting in black and a simple ribbon treatment. Here's a close up look at each tag:

Don't forget to visit Tracey's blog to see more inspiration from the rest of the Uniko design Team. This challenge runs throughout November and there are opportunities to win prizes. Full details of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags challenge can be found on Tracey's blog here.

That's all from me today - see you again soon.

Uniko - Wonky Outline Stripes .....

.... Hi! It's day four of our Uniko introductions and I've made a really fun card with the new Background Blocks Wonky Outline Stripes:

Boo - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko - Background Blocks Wonky Outline Stripes, Classic Alphabet, Uniko Style, Festive Sentiments
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black; Versamark; Gina K - Black Onyx
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Basic Black; Vellum; Copics; Wink of Stella - Clear; Embossing Powder - Clear and White

I really like the new wonky outline stripes - they are so useful and can be used for just about anything. I used the block stamp to create the border on this card - it's slightly smaller than the width of the card but so easy to extend. I coloured it with Copic markers and then restamped the image and embossed with clear powder. I cut the panel to size and layered it onto black card. I used the alphabet set to make my word 'BOO', stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed with white powder. I finished the front by adding some little ghosts. They were made by using the outline stamp in Uniko Style and the eyes are the smaller centre, I embossed them all with clear powder and carefully cut them out. I added colour to the back of two and added lots of sparkle to the front with a clear Wink of Stella brush. On the inside, I cut a mat layer of black card and on the white panel added another coloured border. The greeting was made from the smaller stamps in the Festive Sentiments and I added another little ghost.

I used the colours from this week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge - CIC#426 and the layout is based on the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch! - CTS#243.

I didn't manage to do a post for yesterday's introduction of Background Blocks Falling Snowflakes as I hadn't finished my card. It's done now and here it is:

Let it Snow - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Uniko - Background Block Falling Snowflakes, Big and Bold Snow, Most Wonderful
Inks: Kaleidacolour - Blue Breeze; Versamark; Gina K - Black Onyx
Dies: Poppy Stamps - Grand Madison Window
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Early Espresso

I thought it would be fun to make a window looking out to the falling snow. I stamped the snowflakes on some white card using the Kaleidacolour pad to create ombre snow. I die cut the window frame from brown card, stamped on part of the greeting and then adhered it over the stamped snowflakes.  I stamped the rest of the greeting on the card base and adhered the window with some dimensional tape. On the inside, I cut a mat layer of brown card and on the white panel added lots more snowflakes and a Christmas greeting.

As I've got a die cut on this card, I'm submitting it to Happy Little Stamper Anything Goes with a Die - HLSAG#10.
