Birthday flowers ....

....  Good morning!  It's absolutely gorgeous here this morning, bright blue skies, sunshine and a cold wind!!  Well, you can't have everything.  One of the things that I'm still having trouble with over here, is posting cards home early so that they arrive in time!  This card is a special one:

Happy Birthday Mum - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Winnie & Walter - The Big, The Bold & The Happy, The Big, The Bold & Extras, Parentville Extras; PTI - Phrase Play #2
Inks: Versamark; Stampin' Up! - Crisp Cantaloupe, Pink Pirouette; Versafine - Vintage Sepia
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Gold Mirrio Card; Dawn Bibby Vellum; Gold Embossing Powder; Papermania Ribbon

I used the colours that Gayatri picked for the Winnie & Walter WCMD Colour Challenge and the layout is based on the sketch from this week's Freshly Made Sketches - FMS#157.  I love the colours, they are really soft and feminine, perfect for my Mum's birthday card.  I stamped the solid rose images in pink and peach and then over stamped the outline rose in Versamark, heat embossed with gold powder and cut them out.  I adhered the peach rose flat to the card and used dimensional gel for the two pink roses.  I created the panel by adhering some vellum onto gold card.  I added a gold ribbon and finished the front with a simple birthday sentiment.  After fussy cutting the sentiment I used dimensional tape to attach it to the front.  On the inside I cut another gold mat and on the white card added a simple, but heartfelt message.  I created a subtle shadow on the word Mum by stamping twice - in pink and peach.  Also below is another view of the front of the card - this time you can see the dimension.

Now to get this in an envelope and head off to the post office so that it gets to Mum in time.  I know that I'm perfectly safe sharing this card here, as my Mum (love her) knows nothing about computers and the Internet!!  Before I go - here a photo of the tree in front of our house - it's suddenly gone a wonderful shade of red and is positively glowing in the sun!

See you soon!  Bye for now.

WCMD On Trend ...

.... Morning all!  I do hope you all had as much fun as I did yesterday.  I was able to spend all day in my craft room playing.  I posted one card yesterday and today I've another to share.  Lea, at Winnie & Walter - On Trend,  has challenged us to make a card using the very on trend camera theme.  I just had to give this a go!!

Say Cheese - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Winnie & Walter - Bubble Talk; Stampin' Up! - Snapshot, Filmstrip, Just Sayin', What's Up?
Inks: SU - Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo; Memento - Tuxedo Black, Morocco; Versafine - Onyx Black
Dies: SU/Sizzix - Word Bubbles Framelits
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Kaisercraft DP - Happy Snaps; SU Punch - What's Up?; Copic Markers

I used the layout from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch! - CTS#95 and made the card landscape instead of portrait.  The colours are from Colour Q - cQc#261.  I used my stampamajig to get the film strip border stamped (mostly) straight.  I found some words associated with photography, positioned them above the strip and stamped in them in blue.  I stamped the camera onto scrap card, coloured it with Copic markers and cut it out.  I adhered to the card with dimensional tape.  The word bubble was made by stamping one of the word bubbles from Just Sayin', then stamping the words from W&W Bubble talk and cutting with the matching die.  It is adhered with dimensional tape.  On the inside I cut a mat layer in brown design paper and on the white panel added a sentiment from the paper pack.

I'm doing more crafty stuff today - only this time it's photography.  We're all off to a photo shoot with a couple of models - Andrea and Jasmine - they're both great fun and gorgeous too!  See you soon.
