SNG - Merry Christmas ...

....  Morning!  It's a beautiful morning here in Northville - a marked contrast to the grey and rain that we had yesterday.  I've not been in my craft room much this week - well that's not entirely true, I did do some tidying up earlier, but today is the first time I've made a card all week!

Stamps: Rick St Dennis Digi: Christmas Party Hat; Stampers Anonymous - Tim Holtz Crazy Talk
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black
Dies: PTI - Wet Paint Holiday; Lawn Fawn - Stitched Hillside Borders
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Kaisercraft DP - Home for Christmas; Green Mirri Card; Copic Markers; Wink of Stella - Clear

I'm submitting this card to Muse: Christmas Visions - MCV#29, where I've CASEd Betty's beautiful card.  I've used the colours, the foliage is in my background paper and this lovely hat, and the layout.

I think that by now you all know that I just love Rick's wonderfully elegant Hat Ladies.  This lady is perfect for a Christmas card with the roses and holly in her fabulous hat.  I printed her on white card, coloured with Copic markers, cut her out and added sparkle to the fur and feathers with a clear Wink of Stella Brush.  I used a border die to cut the curve on the design paper and adhered it flat to the card.  I found some really dark green textured mirri card in my stash and die cut the word "Christmas" from it.  I stamped the word "Merry" in black, using my stamp-a-ma-jig to position it.  On the inside I cut a mat from another piece of the design paper, and on the white card I added a border and a greeting.  The only stamping I did on this card is the word Merry!!!

You can find this elegant Hat Lady at Rick's Zibbet shop, along with lots of her friends.  Rick has over 1,200 images at his shop ranging from the elegant ladies, through cute little mice, to fun Halloween, and on through to quite scary Halloween and Creepmas images!  Not only can you get single digital images, but Rick has also produced several colouring books.  If you like rhinestones, furs, elegant ladies - then have a look at Chapeaux a la Mode, it's full of wonderful images and super quotes.  If you fancy something a little more on the dark side, then you'll like Rick's latest addition - Creepy Creepmas.  Hopefully, my copy should arrive today!

Now, I've got to get back into my craft room as I've a few more projects to make.  So, that's all for now.  As always, thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving comments - I really do appreciate it.  Bye for now!

52CCT - Colours ....

... Morning!  It's time for our colour challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and April and picked some gorgeous colours for us to use.  You can use EITHER BLUE OR PURPLE and ANY METALLIC.  Here's my card:

Flurry Wishes - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Stampin' Up! - Flurry of Wishes
Inks: Versamark; Versafine - Onyx Black; Distress - Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch
Accessories: White Lustre Card; Silver Mirri Card; Silver Embossing Powder; White Orchid Embossing Powder

I've used one of my favourite techniques to make this card - emboss resist.  I stamped the sentiment and snowflakes in Versmark and heat embossed them using silver on the sentiment and white on the snowflakes.  If you look closely you'll see that the snowflakes sparkle - the embossing powder contains silver glitter.  I added colour to the background by blending two shades of blue inks.  On the inside I cut a mat layer of silver card and added some more snowflakes and a greeting to the white panel.  As this is a one layer card, I'm submitting it to the new One Layer Christmas Card Challenge - OLXCC#19 where anything goes, this time with the option of silver.  And it's a CASE of Kimberley's lovely card too at Muse: Christmas Visions - MCV#23.

Don't forget to visit our blog to see what the rest of the team have made this week.  And I don't want to panic anyone, but there are only 10 more Saturdays before Christmas!  So now's the time to get going with your Christmas cards!  Have fun.

52CCT - Colours .....

...  Hello, good morning!  It's time for our colour challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.  Patricia has picked some wonderful colours - soft pink, soft yellow and soft green - just gorgeous.  Here's my card:

Peace & Joy - photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Big Bloom Poinsettia; PTI - Wet Paint Holiday
Inks: Stampin' Up! - So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding, Pink Pirouette; Memento - Grey Flannel; Versamark
Dies: Lil Inkers - Stitched Rectangles #5; PTI - Wet Paint Holidays
Accessories: White Lustre Card; SU Card - Pistachio Pudding; Ranger Watercolour Paper; Gold Embossing Powder; Gold Mirri Card; Spray 'n' Sparkle - Gold; SU DP - Pink Pirouette

I took inspiration for my card from the new Muse: Christmas Visions Challenge - MCV#1 - Kimberley's card is just stunning.  I'm also submitting to Merry Monday - MM#157 where the team would like us to use dry or wet embossing on our card.  I pretty much kept to Kimberley's layout and I also used poinsettia.  I created a watercolour background using SU inks and then stamped the poinsettia in Versamark, heat embossed with gold powder and cut both flowers out.  I made the base from pale green card and die cut two panel to go on top.  I die cut the greeting from gold mirri card, stamped the ampersand and then adhered the words.  Before attaching the flowers I sprayed some gold sparkle over them both.  On the inside I cut a panel of white card, added a couple of small poinsettia and finished with a bold Christmas greeting.

I made this card yesterday afternoon just as we hit a record high temperature for the day - 30°C (86°F) - sunny and humid - not the kind of weather that makes me think of Christmas :)  Do visit the blog and check out the cards from the rest of the team.  Have fun!
