Now, when I picked this theme, I had in mind a totally different idea and it involved pears. However, when I saw the sketch over at CAS Colours & Sketches - CASC&S#139, I went off in a completely different direction. I stamped the plum images several times on white card and coloured them all with Copic markers and then cut them out. I cut a panel of designer paper to cover the bottom of the card and then adhered the plums starting at the back and finishing at the front with the luscious yellow plum. I created the sentiment on the computer using the font CK Elusive (which was free with a craft magazine ages ago). I selectively coloured the word plum in dark purple. I used a word bubble to cut out the sentiment, edged it with dark purple and adhered it flat to the card. On the inside I used more of the design paper to create the mat and on the white panel stamped a simple greeting and another plum. Edited to add: I realise that I forgot to say that I'm playing along with Cards 4 Guyz - C4G#86 where the team would like us to colour - and I certainly did that with all these pretty plums. I gave this card to Jonathan this morning - just because :)
Do visit our blog to see what the rest of the team have created. Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Jane Willis - you'll have seen her work on our blog and around blog land! You've got plenty of time to play along with the challenge - deadline is Tuesday 15th September midnight BST (that's 7.00pm EDT).
This is the last week of Kathryn's summer holiday - she's back to school next Tuesday, after Labour Day. It's also the last week of my Mum's visit to the States - she's been with us since the middle of July and it's been fabulous. We've had wonderful weather for her stay - it's been just right for Mum, if a little cooler than many Michiganders would have liked. Mind, it looks like summer is back - it was baking yesterday and looks to be hot for another couple of weeks! Yesterday I took Kathryn to the hairdresser to have her hair done. Here she is looking gorgeous:
The colours are in homage to one of Kathryn's heroes - Ash Costello of New Year's Day. Mind she didn't go brilliant red and black, instead it's a more subtle dark brown and red! Here's a photo of Kathryn and Ash taken at this year's Warp Tour when they came to Michigan:
That's all for now. Hope you all have a super day.
