SHC - Personalised Birthday Cards ....

.... Morning! Two days on the trot - go me! I'm here today with my regular weekly post for Seven Hills Crafts. I've got a bit of a change though - instead of Christmas, I've made a couple of personalised birthday cards for my great niece and great nephew.

Stamps: Altenew - Spheres & Spirals; Concord & 9th - Painted Dots Turnabout Stamp, All the Birthdays
Inks: Gina K - Blue Lagoon, Turquoise Sea, Sea Glass, Ocean Mist, Fresh Asparagus, Grass Green, Jelly Bean Green, Key Lime, Innocent Pink, Dusty Rose, Bubblegum Pink, Passionate Pink, Peach Bellini, Sweet Mango, Tangerine Twist, Tomato Soup, Coral Reef; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
Dies: Concord & 9th - All the Letters, All the Numbers
Accessories: White Card; Gina K Card - Turquoise Sea, Bubblegum Pink; Black Fine Marker Pen

I had planned to have balloons, candles and gifts as the background, but instead I used the geometric shapes from Spheres and Spirals; this set reminds me of the Spriograph I had as a kid. I used standard UK DL size cards and cut coloured card to fit. I stamped the large 'star' shape in the top right corner of each card and added a circle image inside. Then I randomly stamped other geometric images on the card panels. I used a selection of different colours. I added smaller 'confetti' like images inbetween the larger images. I adhered the panels to the front of the cards.

I had lots of stamped panels left-over from an earlier crafting session, and used them for the letters and numbers. I used Concord & 9th's All the Letters and All the Numbers die to cut the names 'Nico Lewis' and 'Lexi Sue', along with their ages. I glued them to the card and edged them all with a fine black marker pen. I finished the fronts with a simple birthday greeting. On the inside of each card, I stamped bold birthday greetings and added a few more geometric patterns.

These cards are a bit different, but I'm very pleased how they turned out. I'm sure the kids will like them, especially as they come with gifts enclosed!!

That's all from me today. I hope you're all keeping safe and well and coping with all the various Covid-19 regulations. Take care, bye for now.

SHC - Better Together ....

.... Morning!! It's time for my Seven Hills Crafts blog post. Today I've got a clean, monochromatic card to share:

Stamps: The Stamping Village - We Stand With You; Concord & 9th - Painted Dots Turnabout
Inks: Versafine Clair - Nocturne; Gina K - Soft Stone, Stormy Sky, Slate; Versamark
Dies: MFT - Stitched Circle Stax #9, Wonky Stitched Circle Stax #2; Stampin' Up! - Starburst Framelits #4
Accessories: White Card; Black Card; Vellum; White & Silver Embossing Powder; Doodlebug Sprinkles - Black

I recently got the new collaboration set from The Stamping Village - We Stand With You. and this is a quote from the companies about this set:

"As a group reflecting our larger community, the Stamping Village believes speaking up and speaking our is required when racial, social and economic injustice exists. Standing up is a vital part of supporting all members of society and the only path towards healing. Standing together, we are committed to listening, learning and change.
As part of a pledge by the Stamping Village to donate $10,000 for racial justice, $5.00 from every We Stand with You stamp set sold will be donated to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund."
You can get this set from Tara at Seven Hills Crafts - it's full of lovely images and supportive and empowering messages, and I've been keen to make a card with it.

I made lots of backgrounds last week with the Painted Dots turnabout stamp and I still have lots to use up. So this card came together fairly quickly. I started by finding the monochromatic circle and used a starburst die to cut it out. I layered this onto a die cut black circle and adhered to whole lot to the front of a US A2 card. I used the cute heart and hands image on vellum, layered onto a black circle and added to to the card. I stamped the sentiment on a strip of white card, added a black strip and used dimensional tape to attach it to the card. I finished the front with some enamel dots.

I kept the inside really simple, I used the quote from Ryunosuke Satoro - I think it's really beautiful - and simply stamped it in black. I was going to add another image from the stamp set, but Kat said it was powerful and should stand on its own.

I'm submitting this card to the current challenge at Love to Craft Challenge Blog - LTCCB#50 where, as usual, it's Anything Goes.

That's all from me for now - see you again soon.
