Playful hello ....

.... Good afternoon everyone - it's really dull here today; I've had the lights on all day!!!  Ugh!  And my day wasn't helped by the fact that I woke up with a thumping migraine, so I had to miss my Stampin' Up! class and rest.  Fortunately, my head, while not totally better, has improved this afternoon.  I've a fun card to share with you now, made with three challenges in mind:

Stamps: Stamp A Mania - Mexican Pottery Set; Personal Impressions - Big Sentiments
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Early Espresso; Versamark
Accessories:  White Lustre Card; SU Card - Early Espresso; Promarkers - Umber, Pastel Yellow, Spice, Blue Pearl; Cuttlebug EF - D'Vine Swirls; White Embossing Powder

I decided to make a fun card to go into my stash.  I got this stamp at Mega Meet earlier this year - the style lends itself to block colouring.  This week's colours at Colour Q have a south-west sort of feel - so they work together well.  I embossed the card base with D'Vine Swirls to suggest the sea and stamped a simple sentiment on the banner.  The inside is simply a mat of brown with white card to write my message.

I've spent the last week and a half going through my stamping catalogues and bringing them up to date.  Since moving to the States I've been fortunate enough to buy stamps from companies I'd seen in the UK, but were a bit expensive to ship!  I've been making up for lost time ;)  It's been a fun experience and I've rediscovered stamps I'd forgotten I had!  And I can see the floor by my desk again! Yea!!  That's all for now - see you soon.

  10. What a great way to use that embossing folder - I've had the same one for ages but rarely seem to use it. It looks great as the 'sea.' And I love your beautifully coloured fish...perfect card for your stash!
